If Toney's on top form then no imo. He was erratic though, they could both beat the Toney of the Thadzi fight for example

Depends what version of Toney turns up.

I think Eubank himself remarked that he'd favour Toney to beat him by a very close descision due to his combination punching.

Cant remember what site that interview was on however.:?

Toney stops Benn late, he decisions Eubank.
Eubank had real struggles with guys on a much lower level that a fit Toney. I'm assuming Toney would get himself in shape for these 2..no gimme though considering he wasn;t for Jones.

    wait wait wait.
have you forgotton how many close shaves the guy had.

    • sosa was outworking him pretty well
    • nunn was doing a clinic...3 rounds at most for james, he just caught the guy with a left hook...thats not skill thats desperation.
    • johnson knocked him down and stuck him with a right jab all night to which toney won roudns due to pressure...and not immensly effective pressure either.
    • some people still feel mcCallum beat toney and gave him another tough fight
    • Doug Dewitt was a good win...but the whole point you said these names was to show how effective toney is and how eubank and benn are not in his level of class....benn stopped his man before toney did (and on the same subject, eubank defeated thornton a year before with better results)
    • charles williams was outboxing toney and 34 years old, if toney didnt release that rigth hand this would of looke dlike a bad performance by him.
    other fights you havnt mentioned
    • tiberi,thadzi,williams

im not hating on toney he fought at many wieghts and beat some good names.
but his middlewieght credentials will always be in question. he was very lathergic at middlewieght and also very drained to make it.
lets not pretend that he was above everyones in skills and chin , why he has been so effective over th eyears is that he can slip shots and come back with bombs, also coupled with handspeed even later in his career.

also nigel benn isnt the swarmer puncher he was at middlewieght at super middle he started to become a real cutie. i wouldnt be surprised if he could take a couple of rounds from toney.

eubank is a completly different style. he is a counterpuncher and stays on the outside. i think he would make toney come foreward (which he didnt mind to do) and win the rounds through countering the counterpuncher.

i think eubank would of razored a decision, and benn lost in a 12 rounder with benn getting dropped in the later rounds

both fights could have gone either way.
