I heard Frazier landed a good left in the fifth. I also heard Frazier took a bunch of clean shots in one of the rounds but would not go down.
It was sad to see such a limited performer as Jumbo weathering joe's Output, Joe, not surprisingly looked all clogged up, like he was wearing two invisible overcoats, It looked like the Joe of a few years back would have hacked him down, this Joe was just a shell with little Vim or Vigor.
Joe was enjoying training up young fighters (including his son) and got into the gym work so much that he fooled himself into believing he was still a contender. It was a draw against Cummungs who Mark Kram described as a "congealed barrel of rust," I think you would be better off tracking down early footage of a young, hungry and ultra dangerous Smokin' Joe...not the relic of the ill advise Cummings bout.
Frazier's once fearsome hook was badly diminished. The speed, snap and power were gone. Cummings did enough to win the fight and did so one card. The other two judges had is a draw. The draw verdict in hindsight was beneficial to Frazier. Had Frazier wrongfully won a decision, I think he gives it another go and would been badly beaten in his next fight.
