Bruce Lee isn't really an athlete though is he? What professional competition was he involved in?

 

Athletes turning into actors was a 60s to 90s thing. It worked real well. Not sure how well it works now. Van Damme, Lundgren, Arnold etc were doing good action movies. I'm not sure if people are as hyped for action movies like they used to. Back in the day it used to be cool fight scenes but that don't sell a film all on its own now.

 

Fine. Cung had been stagnant for some time now. Miller is one hell of a fighter and can beat shields too. War Mayhem

 

Bruce Lee was **** at both, never fought and couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.

Compare Lee to Dempsey, Kano, Helio, Oyama, Karelin, anybody that actually fought; he isn't worthy to bag their ****.

Yeah Bruce Lee introduced martial arts to the Western world against Chinese philosophy namely Wing Chun became a legend as a result that is reverred in all MA circles, could be alluded to as being the father of mixed martial arts somewhat but Beebs from ESB says he knew nothing. What the hell do you call boxing and wrestling?

What about Kano bringing Judo? Do you honestly think that nobody in the west knew martial arts until some ****ing actor who never fought a fight in his life made some movies?

Jack Dempsey knew the importance of Judo, wrestling, and Jiu Jitsu before Bruce was ever in the west. He instructed the military in WW2 and even published a ****ing book that is 100x more useful than anything Lee ever did.

Lee made some friends in Hollywood and maybe conned them into buying his ****, but in the real world people the in west knew how to fight before Bruce Lee's family existed.

There were full on vale tudo fights happening before Bruce Lee was ****ing born.
