Exactly, he put Marquardt on his back, took Hendo down and subbed him, and subbed Lutter off his back.

Ignoring the fact that Silva would knock Le back to sports with 12 total participants, Silva could win without throwing a single strike standing.

I dont know about you but I feel like Le has become grossly overatted since the Rank Shamrock fight.

Frank Shamrock is easily a top 10 middleweight, and Le was able to defeat him in only his 6th fight.

The UFC will probably look to match him with a couple of fighters to introduce Le to the UFC's audience before matching him with someone like Silva. Le may have proven he is a top contender with a win over Shamrock, but Silva has proven to be in a class by himself right now.

I would like to see Le further prove himself as being one of the elite, and set up a major show down with Silva. With GSP within a few pounds of this division, the future may hold many good things for mma fans.

Wasn't Baroni a top 20 at least. Shamrock defeated him soundly. Le beat Shamrock.

I don't get the blindness on this forum. You guys are all over Brock Lesnar's jock yet- he lost his second fight and could very well lose the next one.

Cung Le has not only prevailed against veteran mixed martial artists such as Frycklund, Von Flue, and Shamrock - but he has stopped them all.

He KO'd his first opponent with a spin kick and right hook combo. He high kicked Von Flue with his shin and sliced his forehead wide open forcing a doctor's stoppage. Le dropped Sam Morgan with a liver kick. Le battered Fryckland with an amazing combination starting with a sidekick to the jaw, round kick to the body that staggered him, followed up with a knee to the head and doubled up hooks to the body and head until the man fell down in a heap. Cung round kicked Shamrock until his right forearm snapped clean in two.

What part am I missing where this explains that Cung Le's striking doesn't translate to MMA?

Not only is it translating to MMA- but he is proving superior to everyone he's fought - which is generally how one gets higher profile fights. He's not just scoring a "W" - he's leaving a wake of destruction.

And how does Cung handle Silva's jiujitsu? First off all - Silva has to get Le to the ground. Le is the better wrestler in the standing clinch. If it does go to the ground, Le holds the **** on and picks his spot to stand up. Silva should be able to submit Le. That's what makes it an interesting fight.

If anyone was going to GnP Silva into submission - it would have been Henderson. Henderson got crushed. It's going to take a masterful striker like Le to take Silva the distance.

I don't think Baroni was top 20 at the time, but that is just my opinion.

I am not and never have been over Lesnar's jock. For me the jury is still out on him but thats another matter.

So he knocked out guys like like Fryklund, Von Flue and Sam Morgan. Just because they have been around for a long time doesn't mean they are all that good. The fact is he hasn't beaten a top 20 standard fighter of the present and therefore the hype about him being the one to match Anderson Silva and/or beat him is unjustified.

Evander Holyfield got knocked down by Bert Cooper and couldn't finish him until the 7th round. He had to go 12 rounds with Vaughn Bean and couldn't stop overmatched Bobby Czyz until the 5th round.

Different style match ups make for different fights. Morgan is about as awkward as they come - but was still stopped in the end - like every single one of Cung Le's MMA opponents.

You guys can downplay it however you like but the hype train is aligned with the FACT TRAIN. Cung Le has a 100% KO ratio in MMA.

Please give me an example of one of Anderson Silva's opponents that has the striking skill set of Cung Le.
