Steve USS Cunningham outpointed former world champion Wayne "Big Truck" Braithwaite. That puts USS as IBF mandatory challenger for Tomasz Adamek.

Good win for Steve, his resume looks good: Krzysztof Włodarczyk, Marco Huck, Guillermo Jones, Sebastian Rothmann, Kelvin Davis, Wayne Braithwaite...

It's a shame he doesnt get much attention, Cunningham is very good fighter. Let's hope Adamek-Cunningham happens soon.

What were the scores? I have serious respect for Cunnigham's skills. He's a good guy too.

    scores were:

    119-109, 118-110, 117-111

I read that besides the first round it was all Cunningham's fight, the scores are saying the same

Looks like a typical Cunningham fight, with Steve overwhelming his opponents with volume. The guy has terrific conditioning and it shows. The only time I recall him not being busy is the first Wlodarczyk fight and that was his worst career performance for sure.

I hope the rematch with Adamek happens soon. There are two obstacles to this though: a mega pay-off fight with Hopkins and Adamek's recent serious talk of moving up to the heavy weight division. As exciting as the Cunningham fight was for everyone, this fight is still a high risk - low reward type fight for Adamek, in comparison to the other options available.

This has nothing to do with Adamek btw. (he'll fight with anyone you put in front of him) and everything to do with his managment (exactly thesame folks who handled Golota's early days), who will want to cash in. But, let's hope the fight with Cunni happens.

Cunningham is a highly skilled fighter and is the second best boxer at CW (very close to Adamek). No one denies that Wayne is a little past his best days, but don't sell Cunningham short. Skillwise, I'll take him over 98% of the fatso's at HW.

You're just now realizing that Big Truck is past it?

Haha ! NO this only confirms it. Losing to Cunnigham is a whole new level of " past it " for Big Truck.

I think neither Adamek or Cunningham do anything of note at heavyweight....it is a huge jump and these guys dont have what it takes...Adamek gets hit too much and Cunningham has not so much power...

duva is going to pitch adamek-cunningham 2 to HBO. hbo sports boss was at the adamek-gunn show...

IBF will mandate the fight anyway, surely, as cunningham just won the eliminator.

Steve's a big sumbitch, and I mean that in the good way, not the Odlanier Solis way; I have no idea how he keeps making the 200 lb limit. Out of all the cruiserweights that haven't made the jump, he would project as the best HW among them- especially if he ever really focused on perfecting a jab.
