Dude, don't get me wrong, I'm totally in on this fight, but be real. Like Maidana or Khan, hell, even Malignaggi isn't a MUCH bigger fight than Alexander?

I'm pretty sure he is speaking in financial terms and yes, Khan and Malignaggi are twice as big as Alexander. Malignaggi doesn't deserve a shot at any of the top guys after Khan beats him though but that hasn't stopped boxers in the past.

to hell with all this 'bigger' crap....

So what? Bradley can duck Alexander forever by fighting guys not as good but maybe have a slightly bigger name? (lets be real, maidana is not THAT popular)

thats exactly the type of **** that has boxing in the slumps :-(

Heres the thing, i think this fight WILL happen soon, so im not sweating it. I know bradley isnt scared of anyone and wants to show hes the best AGAINST the best, and this is why hes one of my fav fighters, because him (and devon) are fresh air in a sport musty and stale with everyone trying to play games and avoid the fights that should be happening.

And Maidana vs Bradley is a meaningful fight as well, so as long as Devon vs Bradley happens within the next year or so its all good.

Devon sure is making a fan out of me though by his eagerness to fight the best.

To be honest, I wasn't talking 'financially' bigger, necessarily, but what do the networks want to see, which roughly means, what are we, as fans going to see first? The answer is Khan, Maidana or Malignaggi, who are all HBO guys. Do I want to see Bradley fight the best? Yes. Has he been fighting the best? Yes.

Logically I see Bradley fighting Khan/Paulie winner or Maidana before Alexander gets his chance. Fair? Not really. Realistic? I think so. Especially considering both Bradley and Alexander both want to fight the best. I don't think anyone really doubts that.

Hbo wants to see Bradley vs Alexander. Alexander signed with hbo. Bradley just signed with hbo. <<<What do you think? The biggest fight at the junior welterweight division is Bradley vs Alexander. <<<Whoever disagree are not true boxing fans.

You are Kirk are honestly the reason why boxing sucks and why UFC will never be as good as it could be.

Where the **** is the build up?

Let both fighters clean out the division and then deal with each other. Devon vs. Marcos would be nice.
    Bradley vs. Khan/Malignaggi winner
then each perspective winner take on each other for undisputed JWW champ and if done quick enough...maybe even a showdown with the Pacman.

    Sound good? :smoke

Nope it doesn't sound good. This waiting bs is stupid. Bradley and Alexander are the 2 best junior welterweights in the world today. They bot undefeated, they are both future stars, they both number 1, 2 best junior welterweights. Bradley holds a title while Alexander holds 2 belts. <<Why wait?

Varg, in a perfect world, ya... it would be great to schedule these fights to where these fighters clean out the division and the two left standing face off....

and exactly how often does that happen?

And no, the fights you propose are completely unrealistic, why? because of the EXACT thing we are talking about, fighters not wanting to fight that fighter because of wanting to 'wait', only its from THEIR perspective, not devons or tims this time.

Bradley vs Khan? sounds great.... oh wait.... Khan wants to ' wait '
Devon vs Maidana? sounds great.... oh wait.... Maidana wants to ' wait '
Khan vs Ortiz? not gonna happen anytime soon.. why? ' waiting'
Bradley vs Devon? a fight between the 1 and 2 of the division and the clear best, not to mention actual CHAMPS fo the division.

    Not happening

why? cuz it needs to 'wait'

In the meantime, theres a million and one ways that these fights NEVER happen.

Lets all remember something... it wasnt too long ago (maybe it is now, damn) when we had

Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, and Floyd Mayweather all at 140, all CLEARLY the top dogs and everyone clamoring for the showdowns boxing wanted to see between these fighters in their home division, in their prime, all undefeated.

What happened? Cotto and Hatton never FOUGHT. Mayweather and Cotto NEVER FOUGHT. Those are two PREMIER matchups that could have happened when these fighters were dominant and undefeated and in their primes that didnt. Why? well we are dealing with it right now, and its a plauge within the sport.

They are both undefeated RIGHT NOW, they are both champs... RIGHT NOW... and they are both the 1 and 2 right now. This fight makes sense now. They fight, the division gets its clear number one, they both move on and down the road should they continue to shine, this rematch is a big fight REGARLDESS. But id rather have that fight happen now, with a rematch down the road being the big fight, then it not happen at all.

In a perfect world, yes man, i totally agree with you... id love to see Devon fight Khan, the winner fight the winner of Ortiz vs Maidana 2, and the winner of that fight the winner of Bradley vs Valero or something.

But with all the promoters, weight division jumping, star chasing, and drama, and with already too many fights that were the best fights not get made because of boxings usual bullcrap, and THATS whats killing boxing. And its also the biggest and fastest way to make boxings hottest division into a very stagnant and slow one.

Look, im not trying to make a mountain out of an ant hill, Bradley vs Maidana is a badass fight regardless, and these names WILL have to fight eachother and soon, but i can garuntee you that many fights we WONT get to see that should be happening, and that will be because of the same political bullcrap that im talking about, i just hope the fight that doesnt get made isnt Bradley vs Alexander.

Alexander looked ace last time out but it was only Urango.

One more big win and hes there but Bradley has the world at his feet right now ( and deservedly so )

Alexander beat Urango way better then both Berto and Hatton did in which is very very impressive but not only that Alexander became the first fighter to stop iron chin of Urango. Alexander did something that Bradley couldn't even do and that's beat Witter by stoppage cause Witter quit.

Im not trying to denegrate Alexanders achievements , he does look a real talent but Bradley was the last guy to fight a " good " Witter. I think Bradley broke his boxing heart ( plus Witter was already getting on a bit even by the Bradley fight ) and yes stopping Urango was impressive but Urango while strong as hell is a bit limited.

Bradley looks fantastic but Alexander is closing the ground behind fast , thats why i'm saying one more big fight and then Bradley.

Devon v the winner of Khan v Malignaggi and if he wins that , then Bradley.

Holt just got KO'd by Mubuza.

Bailey is fighting at 147 now.

Ortiz is suppose to be fighting Nate Campbell and even if he isnt his team aint putting him in with Alexander yet.

Malignaggi is fight Khan on May 15th.

Are you nutz??? To say Khan is a bigger fight is opinion but to say Malignaggi or Maidana is??? That just dumb.

Maidana is an interim champion whos only 2 wins of note are against prospects. Alexander is the unified IBF and WBC champ with TKO wins over Witter and Urango two top fighters and both who had never been stopped.
