Cutting himself to shreds? What are you talking about, Cunningham never weighs near the CW limit?! He weighed in five pounds inside the limit for his fight against Braithwaite and more than seven pounds inside for his fight against Huck!

You seriously trying to tell us that that is someone 'cutting themselves to shreds' to make 200lbs?

Yeah...no offense Rock but I do not see Cunningham's body as that of a heavy...

I was referring to his body type- long, lean cut fighters like him typically have chin issues and adding a little mass can actually help with that, and it's my personal opinion that making 200 (even comfortably, as I said) makes his chin worse. My argument was purely a response to people saying he'd be destroyed by punchers at heavyweight because he got rocked by Adamek at Cruiserweight. I still believe that moving up would improve his chin. :good

None taken whatsoever. What good's an opinion if it's always tailored to be the popular one? :!:

Cunningham will do well against fringe contenders, but against the upper level of HW's with good power he's getting KO'd.

I have to agree with the majority here, a fighter with some chinny chin problems with less than good power should'nt try to fight at the heavyweight division.

If true this would be a mistake IMO. Cunningham does not have HW power. Nor do I believe his chin would hold up at HW.

Think its about time a "real" HW comes around to give the Klits some competition instead!
But fair enough if Cunningham want to move up, CW is a very overlooked division.. and i dont think it will change much the next couple years

He's right about the division but he has no chance at HW.

    why?

these smaller men mostly cannot compete with huge klitschko sized heavyweights

and they're actually showing more skill and heart than the heavyweights - as was seen in the outstanding adamek-cunningham fight

even evander holyfield - the best cruiser ever etc - had great difficulty at heavyweight. there is a reason he's a 4 or 5 time champ, and that's because he kept losing the titles. he would put in a great performance or 2 and then seemingly would need a few fights to recover from his big efforts.

Cunningham clearly is aware of the economic problems of being a cruiserweight. He's a really good cruiserweight and after Marco Huck's WBO title win on Saturday, Cunningham has beaten 5 former or future title holders at cruiserweight. An underrated fighter, and as I keep saying, it's really fvcked up that there's no money in Adamek-Cunningham 2.

Cunningham just doesn't seem to be the kind of fighter who can capture the public's imagination, and doesn't seem to be a big draw. And he doesn't have a title either now. It's a hard time for him and I hope he can come through this indifference. If the money isn't there for Adamek, he can fight in Poland (Golota, possibly Wlodarczyk).

Perhaps Cunningham could fight Adamek in Poland? Cunningham has done some good road warrior work (Wlodarczyk rematch, Rothmann in South Africa).
