During an international conference call, WBC/Ring Magazine Cruiserweight champion David Haye was asked if he was interested in a fight with IBF Cruiserweight champion, Steve “USS” Cunningham if he wins on Saturday against WBO champ Enzo Maccarinelli. Haye responded by saying “Nobody knows who he is. Who has he beaten? He has a vacant title. There's no history behind him. The reason he got the title is because O'Neil Bell gave the title up, and then Cunningham took the belt..”

Cunningham wants to put Haye on alert that he should delay his heavyweight aspirations and maybe get his facts right.

“Who have I fought? Who has he fought? He knocked out Mormeck, who shouldn’t have had the title in the first place. Bell won the second fight despite Mormeck being saved by short rounds. Other then that, the only name he ever fought was Carl Thompson and by the way David, I just want to remind you that you got knocked out in that fight.”

“Lets compare resume’s David. How many guys have I beaten that were top-10 guys and how many have you beaten. I count one in Mormeck, a faded Mormeck at that. The same faded guy that had you on Ice Skates during that fight”

“I have fought Sebastian Rotthmann (In South Africa), Guillermo Jones, Kelvin Davis, Wlodarzcyk (two times in Poland) and Huck (in Germany)”

“As for the vacant belt comment, I actually beat a reigning champion in Wlodarczyk. Everyone who saw the first fight knows what happened. You know I won that fight. O’Neill Bell ran from me two times. He knows why he did it. He remembers our time together in Atlanta “

“Who am I? I am sure I am better known in Europe then you are.”

“You are trying to run from me just like the other unified champ ran.”

“Just some advice for you David, going up to heavyweight will be putting your career on the line, because your already exposed glass jaw will be broken. And that’s IF you get by Enzo on Saturday.”

    Cunningham is so bad-ass.

    I love this guy :D

Im known from the boxing forum to the training forum.

Cunningham is a nobody, Haye dosent even need to consider this bum after Macca, move up and fight some heavies, Cunningham can lace his boots.

Yeah that really wins the argument as to whether Cunningham is well known and respected in Europe.

If Haye wins on Saturday night then I see no reason to stay at Cruiser to fight Cunningham, if Cunningham can fight and beat guys like Enzo, Mormeck, Bell etc then he will have a case. Its all well and good him saying Mormeck was faded etc, well ok Steve, you fight him and see what happens.

David Haye is a punk. I hope Macca knocks that glass jawed joke out. Because if Haye wins, it's obvious that he's not man enough to take on Cunningham. David Haye is no better than Ricky Hatton; another overrated fighter who is totally dismissive of his biggest threat.

Cunningham is known in the US....he's my favorite of the current cruiserweights and Haye shouldn't go about his boxing career with the attitude of "This guy isn't as popular as me", this isn't a popularity contest - it's boxing. Haye can move up to heavyweight if he wants, but he'll never be considered as dominating the cruiserweight division and after he's beaten at heavyweight he won't be regarded as much....but he may then move back down to cruiserweight, and Cunningham can then say "Who is David Haye?"

Cunningham is a step down from Macca, why would he even bother, he has bigger fish to fry at heavy, why would he kill himself making weight for some unkown ameri-bum.

I would love to see a Haye vs. Cunningham. I would give us the opportunity to see just the second super unified champ in the sport's history(and a chance for Philly to be home of both of the sports only super unified champ). However, it seems Haye isn't interested in Cunningham
