Cunningham was down in 4th round after straight left hand from Ross.

Cunningham won all 3 first rounds.

It looked like a punch caused it on the replay and going by Ross' reaction to it. It might have been the thumb of the glove though. I've can't remember a cut like that before in a fight tho - really nasty looking.

It looked like a thumb in the eye. If not this cut, there definitely would be a war. Its not good for Cunningham to win it such way. There should be a rematch. Good fight :good

Just watched this fight and it looked to me like Troy lost the first two rounds while he was trying to get his counter punching going but it seemed to me like he was really starting to roll before the fight got stopped. Fair stoppage I can't argue with that but there are far too many people not giving Ross his credit in this one. His counter punching was starting to flow and his better speed, mobility and evasive moves had from what I could see started to take over the fight. Steve was starting to run into crisp counters every time he engaged and they were starting to get on him in his corner. It looked like he was on his way to ****ing Steve up if this went the full twelve rounds. Tough break for Ross. IF he didn't know he could hang with the big boys he does now. I hope he gets another shot.

I watched this fight and thought that Troy Ross easily won 3 of 4 rounds and in the 4th round, he knocked Cunningham down. The next thing I know, Ross is moving in to put pressure on Cunningham and Cunningham throws out a lazy punch. All the replays showed that the thumb of Cunningham gouged Rosses eye.

That punch or eye gouge tore Rosses eye right open and it should have gone to the scorecards and not been a TKO decision.

There is something very fishy going on as I heard that after the fourth round, the judges had it an even fight?? No way, Ross was ahead. A rematch should be warranted.

How they could have it even with a knockdown is beyond me. I actually only had him winning two rounds but with the knockdown you can't have him behind.

Personally, I had it 39-36 for Ross, giving the third round to Cunningham. But it was the right thing to stop the fight, Ross may have lost his vision if the fight would have continue.

But don't think for a second that Sauerland will give Ross a rematch. No chance in hell!

I wonder how long that kind of cut takes to heal

I also watched the fight and had Cunningham winning all four rounds including clearly winning the fourth other then the KD. See opinions are like aholes. Unless a cut is ruled to be caused by other means then a punch the fight has to end in a TKO. The referee ruled that the cut was by caused by a punch. The fight doesn't go to the cards in that situation.
You saw the thumb on the replay... um the referee doesn't have that luxury and trying to hold him to that standard isn't fair.

I doubt Cunningham gives him a rematch any time soon. Cunningham is looking for the big payday and over there that means he'll be fighting someone from that part of the world.
