People forget Louis could move when he wanted to ... watch him in the Max Baer fight .. he moved .. Tyson wold be extremely dangerous in the opening minutes .. Both have the power and speed to take out the other ..

Coming towards Joe Louis, was a very bad idea generally.

He excelled at setting a carefully prepared killing ground, and using an opponents forward momentum against them.

Tyson would pose a legitimate threat to him, but he would also make his job very straight forward.

Both are on the same power*chin-level? Is that so?

I thought of the uppercut that Tony Tucker landed. A Louis uppercut, I assume, would be more hurtful to an opponent.

    Yes.

Catch him while he was coming forward.

Take an iron pitcher and a ceramic jar and hit them against each other all over again.

No. It means what it says. Not sure what you mean by power chin level. Is it stand alone or a combination of all their skills and strategies coming into a mythical match up ?

In terms of power, they might be more or less even.

At least neither of them is obviously better than the other in this department.

Tyson has the edge in durability, but not by as much as some people think.

    Louis has the stylistic edge.

It might come down to whether Tyson's edge in durability, can offset Louis's stylistic advantage.

Louis would land something hard to take the edge of Tyson's agression away. Joe was accurate and quick with his combos. If he was able to connect I could see Mike backing up biting his gloves and start to look for a place to lie down. JK
I do think that instant that Tyson has to think gives Joe the time and room to get his firepower off. That is when the jab starts to become a factor and perhaps Mike's features begin to change.

Louis does not bring anything to the table that Tyson has not seen before in the Ring........jab/combos/size/clinching/strenght/skills/survival tactics etc , in one way or the other Tyson dealt with it and waxed them accordingly vs Louis who has never ever encountered a skilled iron chinned power puncher with the speed of a Middle to take your head off......and Tyson even totally washed up was never chinned by sub 190 pound fighters as Louis was.......Tyson will come out as usual and walk right thru Louis, no respect, he will not be denied the win........Tyson guaranteed can take Louis's best and keep on firing back while no way in hell is taking Louis a Tyson flush shot without going into lala land..

You're just making Buster Douglas appear a little bit more exceptional than he actually was.

Louis brings things to the table, that anybody who never fought Louis, has not seen before in the ring!

He was the greatest finisher of all time, including Tyson!
