Hey ya.. Just curious to what all uk based posters REALLY think about Amir Khan. Should he step up competition?? Should he continue to fight lower qaulity boxers as he is still very young? Is he really that good?? Is Frank Warren a total wanker?? Your opinions would be appreciated. Also goodluck with the rest of the rugby world cup..Im a rugby league so **** the wallabies.lol.. Got a good chance with robinson back and hopefully andy farrell next game.
He is fighting a decnt level of competion for this stage in his career, he is beating people he should beat and he will fight higher level fighters within the next few fights. Nobody can tell how good kahn will be yet, you will get alot of idiots saying he aint that good etc but they don't know, he needs to fight some bigger puncher's and if his chin stands up he has the speed and the skill to go alonway. However if someone like thaxton who isn't a great fighter but a decent puncher can wobble him badly he would find it very tough going. He could be one of the best british fighter's pf all time or it could go badly wrong anybody who tells you different is being either very short sited or biased. Yes frank warren is a wanker.
The competion he has faced is the best of a supposedly rich domestic scene at that weight and would be the usual fights for any domestic fighter on the rise. The likes of Scot Lawton and Willie Limond may not be world beaters but offer a good learning curve for the boy, all he needs now is a test against the other two top Brits of Earl or Thaxton who can both whack. If he comes through them then yes he is that good. Khan has a weak defense and a shaky chin but apart from Limond no one has seriously tested these two aspects of his game. My personal opinion of Khan is that I hate him and can not wait to see him lose, hopefully bad by a huge ko but I will give him his respect. Frank Warren is a total wanker but for too many reasons to name here. That deserves a thread of its own.
Dont ask that - that is the forbiden question! Ive never got it either. Hes cocky, flawed but exciting which is pretty much what I like in a fighter!
I don't get why morons in england have to try and find fault with anybody who tries to do well, it's the same with football and pretty much every other sport. You get loads of fat wanker's calling people like lampard fat frank, yeah he may be overated and he isn't the best player ever but he is definately a good player and if your 20 stone with a beer belly how the **** can you call lampard fat.
No i dont really have a opinion on him as i havent followed him other than when he fought on calzaghe v bika undercard..And the limond fight where he did do well to recover.. I lived in uk for all of 06 and seen the papers pumping him up like he was a certain legend in the making. Like to hear what u.k based posters think about his progress etc..
Mate ...he's jus a kid n ITV have found a easy way of makin a few pound , he'sgood but not that good ,an yes frank is a wanker !!! atsch
He still has a lot to learn. His chin has always been suspect, I think warren will still manouvre him to some form of world title.
I think he is very good not shown what he is capable of, yeah obviously he has a lot to learn, u never stop learning. Nearly every fight he has looked brilliant not all who can always be 100% on the night but trust me he is quality fast, strong, accurate, great finisher etc why do people say he isnt boxing at a decent level? look at some of the guys he has already beat early in his career and who he is fighting next i think he is making great progress and will continue to do so :good
How did you fare sparring with him Mate? How did you find him in comparison with., say, Junior Witter.
Witter is very elusive and fast, khan is very fast too but also power is increasing rapidly, hits very hard defo going on to big things its a shame people critise him so much and not just get behind him he is very talented handspeed and accuracey is awesome hopefully he will show what he is capable of on sat.
