Curmel Moton Debut Tonight in Vegas

This 17 year old Curmel Moton who boxes out of the Mayweather gym is turning over tonight on the Canelo v Charlo undercard. He is boxing an unbeaten Mexican who is 4-0 with 3 stoppages. Hopefully he will be shown on the UK DAZN broadcast. He looks about 12 years old, is a multiple time national champion and I have been lucky enough to see him work out in Vegas. I was very impressed when I saw him, he was working with his Dad, who I think is his trainer. Very humble and nice kid, I hope he goes on to be as good as the TMT lot were saying he could be and also said he was getting the better of Tank in sparring over the last 18 months.

I was told by a source that I trust that Mayweather gave him $2 million to skip the Olympics and sign a pro contract with him. Let’s hope he has his best interests at heart and will do a better job than he did with Davis from a boxing record and belts collected perspective.

A story this morning on Boxing Scene quotes that Mayweather allegedly wanted to put him in with Lee Wood for his professional debut. Let’s be honest that is very unrealistic.

I watched the interview and he did say to Hearn to call him and even though Moton looks like he could be the future P4P #1, that would very ballsy and stupid to box a puncher like Wood anywhere near turning over. Also I was slightly surprised that Mayweather even knew who Wood was.

Hopefully he will start his journey well tonight. He’s definitely one to keep an eye on.

 

He looked good, very sharp. Nice debut.

Was on straight after the crappy main event. Charlo was a disgrace, however it’s easy to be critical when you aren’t in there and taking the punches.

I remember also being very impressed with Khans debut and to a lesser extent Luke Campbell.

I was very disappointed with Charlo, he clearly just came for the pay check. I thought it would be a good clash of styles, but when one boxer doesn’t throw anything it obviously doesn’t happen. He was full of it. Crap main event. Props to Canelo, another W. Let’s hope he boxes Benavidez next.

 

Agree he has crammed a lot of fights into his 13 year career. I wonder if he will ever rematch Bivol?

Jim, this is a thread about a promising up and coming boxer who has just made his debut, no one is licking Canelos arse. Lets keep our fingers crossed that this lad can scale the heights of your beloved, walking punchbag Joe Joyce in his professional career.

Ref Canelo, the fact he served a 6 month ban is shocking and I personally am not a fan. He did however serve an actual ban unlike that cretin Benn you mentioned and one of your favourites Tyson Fury. If you really had a genuine issue with boxers taking drugs, you wouldn’t be constantly banging the Fury drum.
