Interesting fight - I've never thought about it before

Ibeabuchi was very skilled and much, much stronger. He and Povetkin would battle it out in close and Ibeabuchi would definitely come out the winner.

He is, in a couple more weeks now he will be even worse when he's stuck sporting a Sam Peter avatar, after Samuel brutally knocks out Maskaev.:yep

Ike all the way in this one, Ike had an amazing chin and punch, the man was very similiar record wise to Povetkin, I believe he retired 17-0- or 19-0, with a knockout win over Bryd and a Heavyweight fight of the year win over Tua. Ike was slated to eventually fight Lewis, too bad we never got to this fight, with Ike being sent to jail in all.

It's ashame that he had a psychological disorder because we missed out on some great fights. Holyfield/Ibeabuchi would have been great.

Agreed, the man was very talented and had a good resume for having only 20 fights under his belt. I remember a few commentators comparing him to Tyson, his physique, power, punch selection, and chin was top of line, how many fighters do think could go punch for punch with Tua, who at that time was the most dangerous puncher in the division, and not be knocked out, let alone be able to win? At 27 he had the ability to give anyone in division more than a tough time in the ring, it's a damn shame we were'nt able to see what kind of fighter he would grow into.:good

Ibeabuchi wins by quick KO, because he is Ike Ibeabuchi and Alexander Povetkin is Alexander Povetkin.

Ike doesn't get stopped, he proved that against Tua. He would walk through Povetkins weak ass punches, and there they would be . . . face to face. Ike throws faster, harder, and more,

    Ike by early knockout.

What a bunch of self-strokers. You will have anybody who is black and American winning by KO. Ike could not KO Marion Wilson.

Povetkin knows what he is doing and can adjust for any opponent. He has a good chance to decision anybody.

No shame in that; neither could Golota, Rahman, Peter, Maskaev, Briggs, McCall, Mercer, Johnson, or Mavrovic. To my knowledge, nobody has knocked Wilson out.

    One TKO on cuts.

Does not matter. Ike was not an all distructing machine, all of his his reputation is based on a couple of competitive fights. Rest is cheesy puff. Anthony Wage UD?
Povetkin already fought better opposition, except for maybe a Tua level fighter (who was last seen knocking out Cerrone Fox - Povetkin's leftovers) and has brains to adjust to anything. Early KO by Ike is rubbish. You do not know what you are talking about.

I don't think I ever said Ike would knock him out in the early rounds. Correct me if I'm mistaken.
