Ggg, kovalev, spense, pac and Joshua will all guaranteed to be true ATG before retiring. Wlads a hw atg, but not a true atg fighter. Canelo, ward and a few others have great chances to add to the formers group
LOL so Wlad isn't an ATG but Joshua is "guaranteed" to be one? What did Joshua to be guaranteed to have a better career at that same division that Wlad has been dominating for 10 years? You're basically saying that he's guaranteed to dominate it for 15 years? Let's see if he can even get past one of the most ridiculous paper champs ever. Wlad is an ATG, unless you think there are like only 10-20 ATGs in the sport of boxing. Fair enough, but to say that Cotto is an ATG and Wlad isn't like that other poster suggested is outright ridiculous. I was replying to that.
GGG is not an ATG. Thread starter is a complete fanboy for that. I do have Wlad as an ATG, along with his Bro clearing out the division. Dominating for such a long has to count, not his fault that the only other ATG in his era is his bro. Others out there still have some proving to do (not looking at old boxers on their way out), though Ward is the closest, he still has great things in store.
Kovalev, Ward and Alvarez I can easily understand. GGG is a potential ATG based on what?, pure hype?.
Many folks seem to not know the difference between a HOF and an ATG. Active/semi active ATG: Roy, :-( Wlad, Bernard, Pacquiao, Toney :-( Floyd said he's retired so I'm going with that until proven otherwise. Not certain what Juan Manuel is doing either so not putting him on the list either. There are no other ATG's currently. HOF yes, ATG no. That includes Roman G., Ward, etc (although they may eventually become one) Also Cotto, HOF yes, ATG no (and I'm a fan)
Isn't that about true throughout boxing history :huh ATG are normally coming to the end of their careers. This is why people look upon ex pros with rose tinted glasses. They are comparing their complete resumes to boxers today who are yet to even come near the end of their career.
