    Current Boxrec HW top 10
    Is

    Usyk
    Kabayel
    Dubois
    Parker
    Wardley
    Okolie
    Joshua
    Fury
    Gassiev
    Hunter

Now I'm not saying I agree with that order of top 10 but credit to Usyk in that he has twice beaten Dubois, twice beaten Joshua, twice beaten Fury, beaten Gassiev and beaten Hunter
That is 8 wins over their top 10 fighters with 9 other fighters to Usyk being #1
If you did their top 15, Chisora would also be on Usyks list of wins

    Consider on that top 10
Kabayel hasn't beaten any other top 10 opponent
Dubois has beaten 1 other top 10 opponent
Parker hasn't beaten any other top 10 opponent
Wardley hasn't beaten any other top 10 opponent
Okolie hasn't beaten any other top 10 opponent
Joshua has beaten 1 other top 10 opponent
Fury hasn't beaten any other top 10 opponent
Gassiev hasn't beaten any other top 10 opponent
Hunter hasn't beaten any other top 10 opponent

Shows Usyks fantastic body of work

Have to say now, the greatest HW ever
Not just for the wins but for fighting away and for always taking on the best competition

This once again highlights the strength of Usyks resume in so few pro fights

I know they rank off of a formula and not reality (please correct me if I am wrong), but hot damn that is a bad list.

The fact that only 2 of the other fighters in the top 10 have beaten another top 10 opponent highlights how there is a generation shift.

But the new generation is still in the background waiting for the older generation to step down.

If Usyk retires now and AJ goes down the Jake Paul route, then I would expect the new generation to now start fighting each other and more of the top 10 fighting each other.

Having said that Hunter and Gassiev aren't top 10, that is a joke so we are really referring to the top 8 here.

What is wrong with Fury, Joshua, Parker, Kabayel, Dubois being top 10?
I think many would have them in their top 10

I have nothing wrong with that, I have all of them in my top10 as well. No way Fury is the 7th best HW on the planet though, he is the only human being who can give Usyk a fight. He is the clear#2. That's the glaring error. These guys are 1 & 2, with Usyk being the clear top man.

Would you bet against Tyson against anyone other that Usyk? I wouldn't, and I doubt Vegas would either.

*8th. Its been a long day of fun in the sun.

AJ was awful vs Dubois, no defense at all.

I rate Fury highly, he has had an amazing career but I try and view everything fairly.
Fury hasn't beaten a top 10 rated HW for over 3 years
Styles make fights and it is hard to decide who is better without proof. Some could argue Fury looked better against Usyk than say Joshua but then could argue Joshua looked better against Wallin. Styles make fights and it is not really known who I the better
Would I have Fury at 7/8? Probably not as historically he has a very good overall resume and won world titles, but at what point do you start rating fighters above based on current results?

Fury's last 4 fights - Chisora, Ngannou, loss to Usyk, loss to Usyk

Parkers last 4 fights - Kean, Wilder, Zhang, Bakole

Dubois last 4 fights - Miller, Hrgovic, Joshua, loss to Usyk

I think an argument could easily be made for Dubois to be rated above Fury and there is no saying Fury would or wouldn't have done as well against Hrgovic, Joshua etc. Due to styles

It is hard to rate someone from the results of others based on who they haven't fought if you see what I mean?

Fury's top 10 rating must be based on losing twice to Usyk because his last win was a split decision against Ngannou. It's 2 1/2 years ago since he even beat Chisora and that was a fight he was heavily criticised for making.

    To some degree, possibly so
You are correct in that Fury hasn't beaten any top 10 rated opposition for some time, but he will get a high rating based on achievements and historical wins as well

I do wonder who Fury could face if he really returns as the current Ring top 10 as he doesn't seem overly interested in Joshua, Dubois is on the same stable so doubt that would happen. Parker is a friend, Kabayel is a friend and both fights that won't happen and he has lost to Usyk twice

    This is the problem.
People justify keeping the likes of Fury high up in the ratings because of historical wins and achievements but then complain if he launches a comeback against a low-rated or unranked opponent.
He might well still be the second best heavyweight out there but if he's not proving it with wins, he can get dropped.
That's fair. Same with Joshua. Even more so.
0-0 Ngannou is Fury's only win this side of 2022, and he barely won that.
What's the point of having rankings every month if you can get a split decision over an MMA fighter every two or three years to maintain a ranking, because you had some better wins 5 or 10 years ago?

Since when has Warren had any problem with making in-house matches?
