Neither Floyd nor Pac are Strong A sides to be a PPV. They are both solid at best. Both are VERY VERY strong B sides. Floyd being slightly stronger. In fact, Floyd is slightly better than Pac.
Its not PBF against Oscar Its p4p #1 against Oscar Its Oscar vs some unknown black dude who is supposed to be the best If Campas was undefeated #1 p4p he would make as much money vs Oscar.
After Marquez and Mayweathers numbers are released you will see that Mayweather is not the draw he is not boxings cash cow.
I never found a solid source for the Hatton numbers, I know in the DLH fight he made 25 million. I found nothing on the Hatton fight. However if you are the Cash cow of the sport a fight with JMM #2 rated P4P fighter in the world today, you being the cash cow should do bigger numbers in that fight, than Pacquiao vs Cotto who is #6 p4p BOTTOM ****ING LINE.... a cash cow can fight a bum and still sell tickets DLH had no problem doing that, Floyd will have his chance to prove he is boxing cash cow he just needs to sell the fight, the question is can he?
PAC vs DLH - Pac was not very known except for boxing fans during that time. After the win, his stock rose. PAC vs Hatton - The recession was in full swing. It should be different now after his devastating wins over DLH and Hatton. Of course, this would also depend on the results of Pac/Cotto and PBF/JMM. 50/50!
The PBF fight with JMM will do well more than Pac did against him. I'm not worried about it. It was posted here a while back after PBF-Hatton fought what the PPV numbers were.
I don't think there is one right now. I think boxers like Pacquaio, Cotto and Hatton for example have strong fan bases. However there is no Oscar De La Hoya who has a mass apeal.
It has been proven when he had to reschedule the fight because he didn't get enough buys. Pac is on top right now.
