No Casamayor?! He's still active you know. On a current P4P basis, I'd probably go something like this... 1) Yuriorkis Gamboa 2) Erislandy Lara 3) Joel Casamayor 4) Guillermo Rigondeaux 5) Odlanier Solis 6) Yoan Pablo Hernandez 7) Luis Garcia 8 ) Alexei Acosta 9) Yudel Jhonson 10) Mike Garcia Looking forward only: 1) Gamboa 2) Lara 3) Garcia (inactive lately, but has looked like a BEAST when I've seen him, and he's only 22) 4) Acosta 5) Rigondeaux I think Rigo will win a title, but fall short of expectations. Garcia and Acosta are so young that I think they'll accomplish more as pros overall.
There was another Cuban on the undercard, Luis Franco, a featherweight I don't know he is the one you were looking for.
No his name was velasquez as another poster said. If I remember correctly on the broadcast they said he has a twin brother who boxes to.
He's young so has plenty of time to fix that, and he has the best attitude out of the Irish based Cubans. Garcia is extremely talented but his stubbornness may cause him to achieve less than Acosta in the long run.
Gamboa stands out. He's the most credible, and closest to having a career defining win notably against Chris John or JuanMa.
It's very difficult to rank these prospects at this point in there respective careers. I have only seen a few of there fights, Mostly Gamboa and Lara. But if I had a gun to my head I would have to say: Yuriorkis Gamboa Guillermo Rigondeaux ( I could of put him at numero Uno ) Erislandy Lara Luis Garcia Alexei Acosta Let me put a question to the Cubanos, or anybody really, I just feel I'll get a more honest answer from the Cubanos on this one. What you think Gamboa Express? Rate the guys I listed above on 1.Strongest Chin to 5.Weakest Chin. I haven't realy seen any of them get nailed flush on the chin. But I will say I've seen Gamboa go down from puches that should of not had that effect. But to Gamboa was overly aggressive and kind ran into them, but regardless. anyways, Que ustedes piensan? Cual de ellos pueden absorbar mas los golpes? Quent tiene la barba mas fuerte?
Hello my good friend! No doubt, the strongest chin goes to Odlanier Solis ! He fought the Cuban version of Tyson " Felix Savon " and Savon never even knocked him down! Solis has the strongest beard out of these group, not only that but Haye could'nt KO Solis... #1-Odlanier Solis ( best chin ) #2-Erislandy Lara ( very good ) #3-Guillermo Rigondeaux ( pretty solid ) #4-Yuriorkis Gamboa ( shaky chin ) #5-Luis Garcia ??? ( hard to say ) Saludos mi hermano, te escribo pronto! :good
Maybe it's a good idea. www.cubanfightnews.com You say you like Cuban boxers but I always read " harsh posts " coming from you all the time. This post is to see where fans stand as to who they think is better " skilled wise " out of the current crop of Cubans thus I am not trying to cause any stirr, but people immediately take it the wrong way...
You mean " Joel ( the grandpa ) Casamayor " ??? LOL !!! Joel is waaaaayyyyyy past his prime and him keeping fighting just damages more and more his good reputation and resume !!! As of right now, Joel is not even at the bottom of this rankings... :good
