I was going to make this thread with regards to Bradley taking on Pacquiao and if Timothy wins, actually when he wins! ;) Who would he need to beat to become a ATG in your view?

Anyways seeing as lot of us are down on the modern era thought i'd expand it to the current scene of fighters.

A ATG is your criteria, Pick a current fighter and then explain who and what they would need to do to become a ATG in your mind.

If Amir Khan wants to become the ATG he believes he will he needs to fight and beat Bradley at 140 before winning a domestic clash with Brook at 147 before beating the winner of Mayweather and Cotto.
He would then face the younger up and coming guys in the divison such as Frankie Gavin who i believe will be at world level one day and hold his world title for an extended peroid of time.

i said he needs to beat bradley because theres no way khan v pacman will happen like wlad v vitali unless one leaves roach but cant see that happening.

  6. None unfortunately..... other than those who are already up there.

    Ward might, saying that.

I agree with you're choice of Bradley even if I probably will favor Pacquiao to beat him(will look more into that as the fight comes closer).

The lack of recent ATG potential in boxing is sad,not much to pick from.

Anywya I'd probably go for Adrien Broner,I really like the kid.Has serious potential altough he still needs a lot of work.
But he would have to beat guys like Salgado,Aoh and especially Uchiyama at 130,move up to 135 beat the best guy there, move up to 140 beat the best guy and then finish up his career at welterweight.
He has raw natural potential and altough I've seen some see him as a defensive boxer with good offensive abilities I rate him being viceversa.

Honestly the ATG potential today is rare and subject to failure more than likely.

I was thinking of Ward, I think the quality he's adding is great i'd like to see a bit of variation in his opponents style/skillset. I wanna be able to look back and say he 'fought all different types of fighters' at the moment a lot of his opponents are slow of hand and foot and come forward. It would of been nice to see him fight Dirrell but doubt they will happen.

Beating Bute is Bute gets by Froch would be great, then beat some of the light heavyweights. Silakh would be a really good fight...

I cant see Broner going uop to welterweight hes a short guy and would be very small at welterweight considering some welters go to the ring on fight night at 11 stone 5

He's 5'7 or 5'8 I believe and has the type body tat will grow fast.

He's already coming into the ring at 145 at 130 altough he says he makes weight fairly easy yet.

Donaire's got a very nice resume yet it could of been so much better even now!. I think he's a great shout Meast. He's closest then many but i'd like him to seal it with some really big wins. Montiel was a big win and night but with the talent Nonito's got he needs a night that he can always point to.

  13. Donaire is being mismanaged IMO, he's fighting too many bus drivers and average opponents inbetween big fights.

Broner is crap. That is all.

Yeah remember after beating Vic we waited years for him to have another big fight. He was headlining cards that really didn't catch the imagination.
