If he had the chance I'd have him beating brook, berto, ortiz, senchenko :deal

If he was given the opportunity to become an atg he would

I think Frankie for all his skill will have a tough time becoming a ATG at this point. Win a world title maybe, I like to think he'd admit it's not all Frank's fault although he needs a push on now.

True its a tough ask, but I honestly only make him the underdog atmosphere against jmm, pacman or floyd, if he gets the fights I still think he could clean out the division after they're gone and look good doing it

  6. I think Gavin's ability is beyond question, but the chance to prove it is getting smaller and smaller as time goes on.

He's nearly 27 and hasn't even really cracked English level yet, I think the opportunity will pass him by.

I think with the amateur game as it is, to become a great pro, you've got to turn over at 19-20, and then beat everyone.

It's not the 70's anymore, where you've got potentially great fighters on the Philly circuit having rematch after rematch.

Imagine if Hagler had lost to Cyclone Hart.... the best middleweight of all time would have been fighting bus drivers in between the occasional outing as cannon fodder for the latest big signing.

    :yikes

I kinda agree, I think we've been spoiled with such great fighters this era's lean and watching the ABA's last night made me realize why i don't watch amateur boxing normally some really poor champions there. Sorry to say that but it's the truth some were quite good.

I think as you say nowadays the fights aren't happening although were starting to see more people man up.

    politics will stop this

  9. I know it's obviously about money, but even though I'm not really the egotistical type I wouldn't want someone pissing on MY parade - probably the middleweight division.... and would want to knock them all off.

For me, some fighters aren't willing to take a short term paycut for long term gain, if I was as good as Martinez (say) I'd probably fight Chavez for loose change, slap the **** out of him and then go from there.

Of course the problem is that Serge is in his mid/late 30's and is running out of time for big fights, but calling out Pac and Floyd is falling on deaf ears, and rightly so.

Yeah I'm not a massive Ali fan. He has a great resume no doubt, but Pep was more skilful IMO. Ali for instance hardly ever few a body shot in his career, and defensively he was pretty average

He's just jealous because I know more about boxing than him, and would kick his arse in a general knowledge quiz about Korean light flyweights and their Thai counterparts
