    Fury?

He may aswell get a shovel and dig up his next opponent. Terrible run of 'bodies' in his record bar a fat Del-Boy and McDermott (who he lost first time to).

    Price is the man :deal

John Murray. He was on a good run but his boxing ability is being called into question. Only so far you can go with a bad defense and a one dimensional fighting style.

Cleverly can get better but imo it's down to trainers more than fighter. Vince :-(

I believe that most 'ceilings' are when fighters find themselves in the correct company of opponent. There aren't any career journeymen now who come to fight and will bring you on, experience wise. Problem is a prospect is matched v a dozen professional losers and then they fight a prospect coming off a loss or 2 whom they leap-frog. After that, their complete lack of experience and all-round ability is exposed against an educated opponent.

Ceilings can be talent wise but also experience wise. A fighter can have the ability but not know how if that makes senses. Sometimes it takes a few hard fights where you look bad or maybe a loss, to go back to the drawing board and see where you're going wrong. Work on different things and maybe a more complimentary and fitting style of fighting.

    Just my tuppence worth.

It's funny you mention Quigg and Smith because I'd include the younger Smith and also Crolla.

That 'Gallagher' style isn't working and changes must be made. A trainer needs to be flexible and work to the lads strengths and protect his weaknesses. This isn't happening, right now it seems like a uniform fighting style that you must follow when being trained. It's simply not effective enough and nor is it good enough. Defense has been lacking, like Crolla got ko'd, Quigg put on his arse v Arthur, Smith ko'd etc.

Maybe Joe G has hit his ceiling :think

Yeah, it might be Gallagher hitting his ceiling, or being worked out by other trainers.

It's not actually that hard, retreat around the ring away from the opponent's best punch - you'll be followed, as opposed to having your space cut off, and then step in with a big shot just as they throw - which you can see because their guard is so high, any movement from their ears you know it's a punch coming.

They've simply got to change, racking up the KO losses now.

You're both spot on about Gallagher. He seemed to be a decent trainer early on and all of his fighters didn't have the same style. Just take a look at Joe Murray early on, very classy boxer. Even Crolla when he first moved there showed some obvious improvements.

But now it seems to be no matter what skillset you have Joe has them all fighting the same way. I think part of the problem might be he's got too many fighters. People say Roach is busy at the Wildcard but the only fighters he works with throughout camp are Khan and Pac. The rest usually work with one of the other trainers based at the Wildcard and Freddie just comes in for the last few weeks and works the corner.

Interesting to see Quigg mentioned, He did look good in the second round boxing off the back foot in a aggressive fashion his fights leading up to that he did look poor IMO i agree and the first round he was caught a few times.

Him and Gallaghers interview (Hatton tv) afterwards was shocking though. You'd of thought he had Rendall down 2 times before the cut.
