I was thinking about who are the ones willing to fight anyone, anywhere and anytime. The ones who when offered a fight or want the best man at the top of the division - simply make it happen without fuss or drama.

The one's who don't concern thmselves with a side/b side, 70/30 50/50 splits. Needing the fight to be on home turf in front of their own fans, whether their opponent will choose the right gloves or whether it's the right time to fight before each fighter has built a reputation that reaches the stratosphere so they can charge the fans the Sun and the Moon to just to see them fight for 12 rounds.

All these silly factors are the reason why we only get to see a good fight every 12 months if we're lucky, usually every 2 years, where in every other sports it's routine to see great battles on a monthly basis.

I could only come up with a few names. These men are the ones that the fans need to herald and empty their pockets for. These are the ones keeping boxing's heart beating while's it's strapped up to a life support machine.

    Sergey Kovalev.
    Wladmir Klitschcko
    Vasyl Lomachenko
    Josepth Parker
    Timothy Bradley
    Degale

it would be disingenuous to include GGG's name as much as I'd have liked to, simply for the fact in recent times, that he's become more concerned with the size of the purse before making fights that need to happen.

Feel free to add any more.

I'd probably add Shawn Porter to that list too

Guillermo Rigondeaux. Say what you want about his style in the ring, but the guy will literally take on anyone in and around his weightclass, and he has no problem traveling to his opponent's backyard to fight them.

He's the quintessential high risk, low reward fighter.

I'd add Terrance Crawford to that list. James DeGale and Badou Jack are 2 other fighters that fit the billing.

Silly post to be honest. There is no such thing as a top level boxer who takes on all comers for any money, nor should there be. The guys discussed on ESB are all top level boxers.. for every 1 of them there are 100,000 club fighters and guys out there who would love a shot at them, many of them would want to do it for free just to test themselves or hope for that lucky punch.

At the top level, money vs risk will always always be the case. It has been that way in boxing ever since it began. Pretending it's some pure warrior gladiatorial endeavour is just that pretending, because no body could or would live up to that.

Leagues exist for the same reason.. should the Miami Dolphins play against college team A, B or C just to show their dominance. There is that small risk that they could have a really bad day and lose.. and who wants to pay to see a one sided game. Risk vs Money.

    I
think what you say is a given in this context, we're essentially saying people we think are the sports least diva-like, those who walk-the-walk as we'd like to see it in 2017....

You claim Degale is willing to fight everyone cause he's faced a totally shot Bute, past his best inactive Dirrell and is scheduled to face the nothing special Badou Jack. 168 is extremely weak if any top 168er isn't willling to face everyone in the division then theres something wrong!

Who else is he supposed to fight at 168lb?

And yes, it's a weak division.

The real question is, would they continue to take on all challengers when they become established?
Mayweather for example took on everybody up until Castillo fight. He took the foot off the gas after that.

Dennis is so game, and his style is so exciting.

People and Boxing will miss him when he's gone. A real warrior.

Doesn't exist I wish it did though. The closest thing you can get to the idea your tryna put here is who actually follows the prize fighting model of going for the most reward even if it comes with the most risk. I would say Porter, Loma, Kovalev, Jack, Degale, Crawford.
