Just look at all the physical specimens we have around. We have huge, athletic super heavyweights that are extremely athletic. Never has there existed such high quality boxers in any past era with as many athletic and skilled super heavyweights of such a high caliber.

Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury are probably top 5 greatest head to head boxers in history alongside Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko. None of the pre-1990 heavyweights would really stand much of a chance against this current crops of heavyweights and the top heavyweights in general since 2000.

This is how heavyweight boxing and the heavyweight division in general is supposed to be.

Mike Tyson would have really scared AJ last night with his pressure and hand speed every time Parker attacked in the mid rounds AJ panicked and Parker`s hand speed made AJ hesitate often, Tyson had the hand speed of a middleweight! Another thing that would have bothered AJ is Tyson`s ability to get under the jab because of his height with Parker could not do, Takam got under a lot of aj`s punches also, after Tyson slipped the jab he would come back with one of the greatest hooks in boxing history, I saw AJ nearly get caught by Parker a few times with the hook! Another great hooker was Jack Dempsey who Tyson studied, his hook destroyed the 6ft 6" Wilard proving height isn`t everything in boxing, also Wilder only weighed 214lbs when he fought Ortiz and still managed to KO him even though Ortiz weighed 240lbs proving weight doesn`t mean that much once you are above 200lbs you can knock any size man out, Ali weighed 214lbs when he beat Cooper in their rematch and Tyson often weighed more Wilder`s legs are too skinny to absorb Tyson`s power so I think you are getting carried away because AJ was not impressive last night there have been better heavyweight fights down the years.

I remember reading an old boxing magazine stating "If Ali comes in any lighter he'll be white" when he fought Cooper in the rematch. I didn't realise he was 214lb

Tyson's power was almost non-existent against top super heavyweights. Tyson couldn't even put a dent on Kevin McBride or hurt him. Even a bum in Danny Williams walked through everything Mike Tyson landed on him, which consisting of double digit unanswered punches without even going down once. Mike Tyson failed to KO a single top quality super heavyweight 6 foot 4 inches or taller.

It's extremely difficult to punch up on a significantly tall opponent. Especially if the tall opponent is also skilled himself like a Klitshcko, Joshua or a Fury.

Most ancient heavyweights will be irrelevant in today's era. Despite what the nostalgia may say!

I'm not even close to a nostalgist, but the reality is, the only modern Heavyweights that could hang back in the day are Vitali and Wlad, and maybe Fury, and that's a big maybe. And all three of them will pick up several losses along the way.

Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will all be massive favorites over any pre-1990 heavyweight. Only the 1990 heavyweights can compare and that'd really just be Lennox Lewis to be honest. The rest are on the level of the top 10 contenders of today.

Majority of all time greats from past eras would merely just pass as gatekeepers of the heavyweight scene since 2000. And they'd be considered bums if Joshua or Wilder fought them today.
