I've got 3 guys at the moment that I watch expecting a KO, I'm not going to say they're the best out there, or even in their divisions, but for me three of the most exciting. There are 2 current HWs with 100% KO and victory records, but I'm not including them because I don't consider them proven - ( I don't like using the terms 'bums' or 'cans' to describe guys who get hurt for our entertainment, but you see where I'm coming from) please feel free to disagree.. I've got... Gennady Golovkin (MV) Sergei Kovalev (LHW) Lucas Matthysse (LWW) Exciting fighters and the future of boxing, or just the latest hypejobs waiting to be exposed?
GG and Kovalev are the real deal, both only very recently faced (Kovalev Campillo) or will face (GG vs Macklin) highly ranked opponents in their division because nobody wanted to fight the beasts Matthysee has proven he is no joke, he will most definitely make noise at 140-147
Roman Gonzalez! Sergio Thompson is also an interesting banger although most of his opposition(minus Linares) has been non-descript.
Kovalev's still got a bit to prove but this fight with White will tell us a lot. Golovkin's certainly proven and so is Matthysse. Those guys definitely are KO deities right now.
Who doesnt love big punchers , let them get overhyped i rate triple ggg but want him in with better Macklin is a good start but taylor made for him Kovalev i only saw the campillo and the boon fight i think and he looked very impressive... light heavy aint the strongest division though so god knows whats gonna happen with him and doubt the bigger names will be so eager to get in with him. Mathysse is just awesome , crude but one of them hard mother****er types that people like to root for and his power makes him great to watch .... get him in with Rios, Alvarado, Garcia , Pacman and Marquez.... some of them fights he will win and some i see him losing but itll make for some great tv. also the sadist in me wants to see Lucas in with Khan
Just nudging my own thread in the light of Kovalev White. Another massively impressive TKO3 from Kovalev, and I really expected White to give him more trouble. Possibilities of B'hop or Cleverly next and either could be soon. I believe Kov would take either of them. Gennadys obviously up on the 29th with the smart money being on a strong TKO against Macklin Any rumours on an opponent for Mattysse?
