    The Hopkins that Kovalev fought would have Outboxed Canelo’s head off, lol. And a prime Pascal would have sent Ginger to the local hospital. This Kovalev is so washed up that Hopkins (2014) would outpoint 2019 Kovalev. Pascal today would probably knock him out as well.

    How is it a risk when Canelo has the judges in his pocket? Is allowed to ingest performance enhancers, cherry picks old, washed up fighters, demands rehydration clauses, etc etc? Is cheating part of your persona?

    It's not.
    He has a point. It's not ALL smoke and mirrors but Canelo always has the scales tipped in his favour so that the actual risk is always far smaller than it appears to the casual fan.

    I think Canelo is the most exciting fighter in boxing and the greatest currently active fighter after Pacquiao in terms of legacy but I understand the criticism.

    Had Yarde bum-rushed him in the first round instead of waiting until he was gassed in the 8th, he'd have most likely KO'd Kovalev cold.

    This version gets violently stopped by Pascal, maybe ekes out a split decision against Hopkins.

    I would not consider the Canelo version to be on the same level as the Yarde version. He was well rested and well prepared unlike last weekend. It is an excuse/explanation, but true nonetheless.
