Although just about no one will agree with me I really feel Shogun once fully recovered from injury will be P4P King. A destruction of Rashad Evans, TKO Machida III and then submission of Bones Jones is what is on the cards.

  7. Current Zuffadog P4P top ten. Basically Zuffadog is brown nosing the UFC and WEC fighters to appease Zuffa. Take a look at their most recent P4P list, these guys dont even know what P4P means and has basically filled up their top ten with UFC and WEC fighters (bar one). Nearly all if not all of these guys basically cut weight to fight in the lower division. There are many more fighters that should be in this list but are excluded because they are NOT snuggly with the Zuffa camp. Fedor and Gegard are the obvious ones.

    1. anderson silva: 27-4 (Zuffa) - this guy has a 40% loss rate against Japanese fighters and 40% loss rate during his pride days. He has also was a 22% loss rate outside the UFC while a 100% win rate within the UFC.

    2. GSP: 20–2 (Zuffa)
    3. Jose Aldo: 17-1 (Zuffa)
    4. frankie edgar: 13–1 (Zuffa)
    5. jon fitch: 23-3 (Zuffa)
    6. shogun rua: 19-4 (Zuffa)
    7. jake shields: 25–4 (Zuffa)
    8. lyoto machida: 16-1 (Zuffa)
    9. rashad evans: 15-1 (Zuffa)
    10. gilbert melendez: 18–2 (Strikeforce)

As I've always said, GSP is the man.

    Silva would be second.

Rua, Frankie, Aldo, Shields, Melendez, Evans, Machida and others battle it out for other spots. I would even consider guys like Maynard and Fitch as up there.

Jon Fitch sure as hell has a place in a p4p list. He is 21-1 in his last 22 fights and hasn't lost since 03. He has only lost to Georges St. Pierre who most regard as pound for pound #2 and some consider #1. He's beaten Alves twice, Sanchez, Ghono, and Paulo Thiago. Do you think there is another WW, besides St. Pierre, who can beat him?

If GSP didn't exist Fitch would be a dominant welterweight champion. Just because the man fights boring fights doesn't mean he doesn't deserve his due.

Shogun is the no1 fighter in the toughest division, he cant be outside of the top 3 IMO.

    1. Anderson Silva
    2. GSP
    3. Shogun
    4. Aldo
    5. Edgar
    6. Shields
    7. Penn
    8. Fitch
    9. Machida
    10. Maynard

Sorry Fedor guys, but he lost to Werdum. If Fedor made my top 10, Werdum would have to be above him. Werdum is not in my top 10. Werdum is very close with win over Fedor. It's under 2 years since loss to Dos Santos, and he just squeaked by Antonio Silva.

I'm not very comfortable with Edgar being so high with his loss to Maynard, but that loss was well over 2 years ago. Edgar also beat Penn.

Shields dominated Henderson at 185, which is a division above his best weight.

Fitch is kicking everyone's ass minus GSP.

Maynard's win over Edgar is old, but relevant; and he just beat Florian.

I respect Melendez' accomplishments, but he doesn't have the resume to compete with the lightweights I have above him on my list.

I really like Anderson Silva as a fighter, but I really think that having him higher than GSP at the moment is pretty indefensible.

A p4p ranking is about three things: who is fighting the best comp, who is beating the best comp, and who is looking the best while beating the best comp.

In Silva's last 7 fights he has faced:

    Henderson
    Irvin
    Cote
    Leites
    Griffin
    Maia
    Sonnen

In GSP's last 7 fights he has faced:

    Koscheck
    Hughes
    Serra
    Fitch
    Penn
    Alves
    Hardy

I think GSP's comp is clearly stronger.

And if you consider how good each man looked in those fights, GSP has barely lost a round, and was utterly brilliant against Hughes, Serra and Penn, three top guys.

Silva looked like absolute **** against Sonnen, was not overly impressive against Maia, and really the only fights he looked great in were Forrest Griffin and Irvin, neither of whom are on the level of a Hughes or a Penn. The Dan Henderson win was great for Silva, but he did decisively lose the 1st round, and that was quite a long time ago now anyway.

I like Silva, but I don't see the argument for having him top of the tree anymore.

I don't have a lot separating GSP and Silva. I like Silva at the top spot because his win streak is longer, and he has successfully competed at weight higher than where he is champion.

I'm curious. Did you stop at their last 7 fights because GSP has a loss in his last 8? I find it close even with that loss. Pierre avenged his loss and has dominated everyone else.
