I didn't watch the fight live, just watched the rbr on here, and just finished watching it now. I had to see for myself how bad he was instead of hearing it on here, and you's weren't wrong. Terrible, also weak af power wise. Pianetta to me looked like he was pulling his punches at times, anyone clock it ?? I had a mate watching it and relaying it and he thought the same last night, I just thought bull****, but I agree, Pianetta was 100% pulling some punches in some rounds, FACT..But anyway, he is not doing anything to anyone that is current top 10 atm, whether he can improve I don't know, leaning towards yes but not by much, but theres fighters out there that would destroy him at this stage, Whyte imo is one of them, i'd actually pick in shape Chisora too to beat him, not destroy him, but beat him..I think if he had Peter in the team it would be a different ball game, he wouldn't be gunning for the likes of Wilder yet, he would be told the truth, maybe Peter has had words and that's why hes not in his corner I don't know, but Ben aint at the level to be chief cornerman for Fury..Its a circus show and its coming to an end soon, for pennies too compared to taking his time and fighting Joshua for much more money..Anyone think hes gonna flap Wilder and come to his senses and take his time ?

He deffo shouldn't go near Wilder. It's about 3-4 fights to early, that's if he can get back to near what he was. When Wilder stops him I think he will go back down that slippery slope again, but with some more $$ in his bank.
It looks like a cash out to me.
Peter wouldn't let him near Wilder yet.

It's entirely predictable how this played out. it's very typical for someone who loses that much weight in such a short time to be lethargic, lose power and strength. Anything other than that it is quite rare.

IMO, Tyson Fury should next be fighting a top 20 type fighter, then quickly a top 15 type, then a top 10/bottom 9-10 type, then challenge once he has all of his stamina, power, movement, technical skills back. THIS is absurd and really a waste of a great match-up.

A Fury v Wilder or Joshua in a bout 1 year? Great match with both sides at equal readiness. This? Joke.

Yeah, definitely. It's way too soon and ruins the possibility of a great fight by happening way too early. Dillian Whyte, to me, has earned a shot in the ring. Fury does not deserve a shot at any belt right now, regardless of what he was prior to his exit.

I'm a big Fury fan also. To me, he's like the heavyweight Mayweather in alot of ways.

I had the thought that Pianetta wasn't trying but put that down to me being overly cynical. There was also a moment where fury almost seemed to acknowledge him holding off, but I'd have to rewatch to see if I've remembered that correctly.

I agree about any current top hw beating him.

I also agree about Peter and about Davison not having sufficient authority to lay down the law to Tyson or stand up to Warren in regard to matchmaking.

Although I never thought this fight would actually happen, because it's such a stupid move on his part as he forgoes the AJ fight etc...

    Unless....

He is completely shot and they don't fancy him to get past whichever Matchroom gatekeeper Eddie would ask him to despatch to build the fight. Certainly Whyte or Bellew beat him on current evidence.

    Or

Mentally he's not able to sustain this for a long time and so cashing out now makes sense...

Right! Who wouldn't love to see Wilder v Fury when both fighters are ready, full strength, stamina?? This though?
I've said it for awhile, but what is wrong with Wilder's team that they keep putting him in these situations and debacles? Put him in with a guy like Whyte who's earned a shot. He'd be the betting favorite, make a ton of cash, and earn respect from the general boxing community.

I think he's half hearted deep down but going through with it for the dough, that's why he hasn't Peter in the team and why he wants a big fight so soon, it just seems so stupid and way to soon and Peter Fury wants no part of it

Yes, its like they got a body double in, gave him some tapes to study and told him to act / box like Tyson Fury. Reminds me of those Paul McCartney is dead websites where they insist that the current guy is a lookalike...

After the Ortiz fight I wanted wilder to stay boxing top ranked opposition for the rest of his career. I know fury was once exactly that but this current version is nothing of the sort and all the criticism of Wilder's record will be brought back up if he steamrollers him, as he should.

Warren didn't make this fight. Fury called Wilder himself and they decided they both wanted to fight this fall. Fury then told Frank to make it happen. Both Deontay and Tyson have said this.

I have to say I usually don't believe what's said around how tese fights come about. But I do give credit to Fury for taking a risky option, even if I think he's making a mistake.

Which makes it all the more clear that Fury is just after a payday then.

If he beats Wilder looking like he did last night then their bout will surely become a candidate for upset of the decade -not that I see it happening of course, but I can dream right? :p
