Well, seeing as he is planning on moving up to 126 soon I think we will be judging him on his merits above 122. I think he will peak in the next year but the prospect of better opposition (gamboa, Chris John, and then Humberto Soto and, ahem, Linares lol) means he will have to prove his greatness.

I'm definitely a fan but still on the fence.

    he can prove his greatness

his power and timing remind me of Monzon but his style and compact punches is more like Joe Louis

I thought it was off in the Lontchi fight. Although he was a very negative opponent, I think the blueprint to beating JuanMa has been set. A very good mover.

To me he just a southpaw Trinidad. Who also had very good com[act punches.

I think Ottke would surprise the **** out of everybody and win a legitamite decision over Froch, who I believe was lucky to beat Taylor, IMO. Something stamina wise, or something else physically was wrong with Taylor...the guy who twice beats Hopkins losing to a crude slugger like Froch, after decking him on top of that.

To say, or to just imply that Chambers is on par with Jimmy Young is ridiculous.

i havent seen the Lontchi fight. But to win a fight you have to do more than move.

You can run but you cant hide.

i think hes more than a southpaw trinidad as he has a much better defence and better boxing skills IMO

juanma doesnt have a detailed game plan in his fight. He just wanted to end the fight early that's why he doesnt have a solid defense...

A featherfisted Young also knocked down Foreman along with winning the wide UD- Chambers wouldn't have to be that good to do it. The Ali that KO'd Foreman wasn't the "ATG" version, either.

Bottom line, Foreman was relatively untested on the way up and it didn't take an ATG to beat him although he was a great himself.

Be honest you have never seen Canto fight...he could stand in front of you and you could not hit him his movement was pure class.

The footage below are highlights of his match with Shoji Oguma a tough southpaw from Japan.

    Below he fights Betulio Gonzalez

After looking at these clips I am seriously thinking that Miguel Canto although he is considered a very good fighter he should be ranked in the top 10 flyweights ever.

I think Nanito Donaire has the abilty to trouble any of the great flyweights, at least for a while and that includes Canto, Perez, Masao Ohba, et al. Any fighter who possesses the nice blend of power and skill-set that he does is going to have moments, at the very least.

Wouldn't pick him to defeat those guys yet, but he could probably stay in the fight for at least a little while, anyway.

That works both ways though...Vic at flyweight is not on par with Oguma or Gonzalez.

On me saying Lupe Pintor would beat Juanma.

This thread is just full of dodgy posting. I was looking for threads on Masao Ohba

Anyway, before it disappears again, here's some of him :good
