Current Usyk is a heavyweight... Usyk in his prime at CW didn't mind taking shots or risk getting hit he was a true pressure fighter...infact he got hit a fair amount which he was wise enough to know wouldn't work at HW. He used to ring circle and shell guard a little too much which was a habit he quickly got rid of adapting through his early stint at HW.
Current Usyk, he was a better fighter back then but I don’t favour any ATG against their older version unless the older version in question is a shot version. Usyk is way too smart to lose to a younger version of himself that he knows all the tricks of, every ATG is.
I would take cruiser Usyk. Reason is that cruiser Usyk could take HW Usyk's shots, and vice versa. But HW Usyk won't land as much. So cruiser Usyk UD. But I think cruiser Usyk loses to Fury. Reason is he didn't seem to put as much on punches and so Fury would not be so wary of exchanging. AJ would still lose because he's a mong who actually thought he could outbox Uysk.
Young Usyk was much faster of hand and foot and much more agile with faster reflexes and reaction times. He would simply be too fast for himself Even though Usyk dispatched of Dubois much earlier and in much more devastating fashion in the rematch he looked like an old fighter in the twilight of their career because he is an old fighter in the twilight of their career, and was slower, stiffer and less agile. He can get away with it because he's still faster than Dubois but not by near as much as the prime version would be or even the version who fought Dubois the first time. Very noticeable difference between the two.
I'd go with this. Usyk is a guy that relies on mobility, skill and speed to win. I'd take the version which was more mobile and much faster over today's older fighter. Sure, current Usyk has more power, but I think he'd find it hard to make it stick against his slippery younger self.
This old much declined in all the departments I mentioned version is 1 or 2 steps ahead at most in said departments, the younger prime version was 3 or 4 steps ahead and even more when he was even younger Look at how loose, fluid and quick he looked vs Dubois the first time and he had slowed down significantly even back then
I will say that he seems to hit significantly harder though. Dubois came in on a hot run and looking good in the second fight and Usyk crumpled him up in short order.
