Current version of Floyd vs Shane Mosley's past competition? Does he lose the zero?

He loses to Forrest, probably Vargas and maybe Oscar aswell. The other's I'll think about a bit more.

DLH beats him twice.
Forrest beats him twice
i would pick him to beat the rest but its not a given.

 

Definitely loses to Winky and I think he'd lose twice to The Viper and to a prime Oscar as well. I consider a 130 pound PBF a better fighter prime-for-prime than DLH though.

Vargas may have been too shopworn to beat Mayweather...but at his best i favor him.

Mayweather beats Cotto, Margo, Collazo, and Mayorga. The most competitve of those is probably the Cotto fight although in the end, i think Mayweather wins about 8 or 9 rounds.

Oscar, Forrest and Winky beat him.

He beats Cotto, Collazo and Margarito, and schools Vargas and Mayorga.

Consider also that Mayweather is smaller than Mosley.

 

In answer to the actual question, he certainly does. Forrest is a bad match-up for him, you've got a tall, rangy guy with superb boxing skills, solid power and a very good defense.

 

Pretty much what everybody said. Mayweather would have 6 losses if he took on Shane Mosley's competition. He'd lose twice to prime Oscar De La Hoya, lose twice to prime Winky Wright, and Forrest has all the attributes to beat a Mayweather...twice. These are all big guys, Oscar very fast in his day, Winky has a great jab and a bad ass defense, with Forrest having a great jab, and handspeed of his own. Bad match-ups for the smaller Floyd.

Damn man, Shane sure did dare to be great with a resume like that.

Exactly. Winky Wright would have been an almost unwinnable fight for Floyd I feel. The size, the defense, the jab. No way could Floyd pull that one off.

 

Actually, I forgot we are talking about the versions that Shane fought of these guys, therefore I think he'd probably manage to outbox Vargas.

 

Shane Mosley doesn't "duck" anyone. Close the book on that one. His resume is insane. Oscar De La Hoya x2, Winky Wright x2, Vernon Forrest x2, Antonio Margarito, Ricardo Mayorga, Fernando Vargas, etc. This was a guy who started at Lightweight going up and fighting beats like Wright and Margarito? This is why some people resent Floyd. He should be challenging himself in the same way.

Shane Mosley has more of a chance at beating Floyd than either Miguel Cotto or Manny Pacquiao in my estimation. That's why I want to see it happen. I'm sick of mismatches.
