Just saw a video with RJJ and James Toney in it and it got me thinking how would the version of Toney that beat Holyfield do in today's HW division? How does he shape up to Wlad?
Wlad by brutal stoppage. Toney whilst slick is way to short to stand off Wlad plus he isn't fast enough and wouldn't hit hard enough to cause Wlad any problems. Wlad could take centre ring and tee off at will, it's wether Toneys defence and chin could handle Wlads power whether he saw the distance or not.
Wlad would'nt risk throwing anything but his guaging jab. 120-108 all judges in agreement. Wlad lands on 70% of his jabs while scoring with 2 out of 4 power punches. Toney lands at a 4% connect clip landing 2 out of 50 punches thrown in the fight. Pretty simple fight to score.
Toney gets jabbed and grabbed to death. Toney doesn't have quick enough feet to get inside and when inside he doesn't have the size or strength to not get manhandled.
