Disclaimer: I abhor color-bar and racism. This topic is created for fantasy reasons only.

Who would be the world colored heavyweight champion if that title returns today?

Well, Frank Sanchez is the only guy on that list who beat someone else on the list this decade. (Ajagba)

You didn't get to be "Colored" Champ by beating guys who had NO wins or by beating white guys.

You also lost the "colored" title when you won a world title, which Joshua did after beating Dillian Whyte (who is also on the list) nine years ago.

    So, Frank Sanchez.

Is that a stated policy or was the belt taken from Johnson after he made it clear he wouldn't be defending the belt for awhile? Langford won the "colored" belt 2 months after winning his 1st world title(a title he kept until at least the Bill Lang fight in 1911). Langford also had the "colored" belt when he won his 2nd world title and wasn't stripped because he got back right back to defending the "colored" one.

Are we talking the creation/resurrection of a belt that only black men can compete for? Anthony Joshua, hands down.

Apologies up front for the sort of OT post, but wasn't the idea for a Caucasian championship belt put out there within the last 5-10 years or so? I'm almost certain I read that somewhere, and it was obviously getting some criticism in the comments section, but I'm unable to find any info on it now. It's possible I'm mixing it up with it up with the All-American Basketball Alliance from back in 2010, an all white league in which only allowed, "natural-born US citizens" according to Wiki. Anybody remember this?

At least there ARE plenty of good white fighters out there these days. An all white basketball league sounds.. terrible. And not just for the KKK being their cheering section, but for how bad it would be. And how hollow any championships would be -- congratulations, your team won a basketball game where black men aren't allowed to compete! Like banning Canadians from hockey, or French people from cooking competitions.

Jan what is the lineage for it? That is if it still existed and went by man who beat the man.

Kevin Smith produced a detailed lineage, which we used to have as a sticky once. I will try to find it. Most historians seem to think that it died out some time in the 30s.

Sam Langford was never a world champion, let alone a two-time world champion.

Lineup of Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, , Domantas Sabonis, Franz Wagner, Kristaps Porzingis,Nikola Vocevic, Jusuf Nurkic, Bogdan Bogdanovic wouldn't be terrible, it would be DOMINANT in the NBA today.

Also, the "colored" heavyweight title was for boxers who were denied world title shots, so they had to fight each other.

I can't think of any heavyweight today who is MORE pampered, better paid, been given more consideration by the ruling bodies or been handed more title shots ... basically the opposite of what happened to 'colored' heavyweight champs ... than Anthony Joshua.

Joshua has rarely been denied anything, since he turned pro.

Everyone on the list above has had a world title shot or held a world title except for Sanchez, Ajagba and Bakole.

    So, it's between them.

And Sanchez has defeated Ajagba (also on the list) this decade. Sanchez is ranked among the top five heavyweights by all the sanctioning bodies (as high as #2 by the WBC). Yet Sanchez will be lucky if he ever gets a title shot. He certainly isn't on a short list to get one this year or next, unlike Joshua. That's years away, if it happens at all.

If the designation still existed, Frank Sanchez would be 'colored' heavyweight champ.

Anthony Joshua and Frank Sanchez are rated #1 and #2 in the WBC. They are rated #1 and #3 by the WBO. Joshua needs someone to fight in June.

Think Frank Sanchez would fight Joshua if offered that fight? Hell yes.

Think Joshua will consider Frank Sanchez? Hell no.
