Like somebody already said i rather have one quality champion than a bunch of overrated scrubs that get gift belts.

Besides is all cyclical before trinidad came along there was a dry spell as well and with tito appearing on the scene a bunch more followed.

I expect orlando del valle, luis cruz, dulorme, jonathan gonzalez all to fight for titles in the next year and a half.. and for veterans like juanma, vazquez jr, cesar seda and martinez to regain titles...

Yeah, tough year for the Boricuas, but we all have our good and bad years. I remember last year there were many threads asking, "whats up with Mexican fighters?" Talking about how Mexican Champs were on a decline. 2011 turned things around for the Mexicans, lets see if Margo can take the title from the last Boricua standing.

That was because people weren't aware that Mexico still had 8 or 9 world Champs, I think they were asking why Mexico didn't have multiple fighters in the Top 10 P4P rankings. I'll be really surprised when Japan or Mexico get to only having 1 single world Champion:admin, I'm sure Puerto Rico will get back up.

Mexico vs Puerto Rico is the biggest rivalry in the sport. You will always see them pitted against each other. :bbb

With some of the talent coming up from there, it's hard to see them with only one champ. But let's not jinx it :yep.

It's interesting how many Japanese fighters have started training in Mexico. Ishida and the Komeda bros for example.

I remembered this picture, and then noticed Cotto is the only one left with a title, while making this thread.

What happened to all those guys? ?Name?, Calderon, ?Name?, Jose Lopez, Juanma Lopez, Daniel Santos, Roman Martinez, 2009 PR had 8 Champs
