yes he did recover but he was even more negative than he was in the first round.

It was pretty much a one sided fight with stevens having a few moments where he landed some clean combinations but 90% of the time he was backing up, which is why his corner was having to scream at him to take to the centre and not get backed into the ropes.

Listen you stupid fucck, you're clearly a stevens fanboy. Whereas I wanted the best man to win.

If golokin fought like curtis I'd be saying the same thng about him yet you wouldn't be making up these shiitty excuses for ggg if he had fought and quit the same way stevens did.

btw what part of 'I dont drink' don't you understand? Just because you may have an alcoholic family background that drinks through every waking hour, doesn't mean the rest of the world drinks to blot out their sorry existence.

Haven't you anything original to say besides that worn out tired old phrase?

Oh that would mean you would have to engage some brain cells, which you don't really have in abundance.

lol, GGG is one of my favourite fighters, and has been since 2011, rocking GGG avatars before the bandwagoners joined in. calm down bro.

Nah I just refuse to argue with idiots. You've never been in a ring so I'm not gonna get through to you. Come back when you've sparred a club level fighter and quit after a round.

he quit alright. it was a war and he quit. Not really surprising as another round of that pounding and he may have ended up in a coma.

Now he can become a gatekeeper, and trash talk to up an comers.

Stevens lack of fighting back was a point emphasized by the TV commentators. So you are 100% correct.

Not everything TV commentators say is gospel. Watch the fight for yourself.
Curtis only started to noticeably go into survival mode around the 6th round, with it getting progressively more obvious towards the stoppage.

I practice muay thai and have full on sparring sessions after working the pads but admittedly I don't do it professionally or at amateur level.

You may as well get rid of 95% the forum if you are to judge people's credentials on whether they've fought at club level in boxing lol. I'm afraid it's you who is the red headed ******ed step child with idiotic elitist logic

Face it, you can't argue because you know my points are legitimate and can't be refuted.

You're just taking the easier route like your man stevens and quitting because you know you want none of the debate

Come back to me when you can place forth a valid argument without the hysterics and ****** logic.

I'm a golovkin fan not a Stevens fan. Stevens landed his best shots and golovkin didn't even blink. He was taking a beating and looked exhausted, he had no possible way of winning the fight. His corner stopped the fight. You want to argue those points go ahead, but you're making yourself look stupid.

  11. I box, and I can tell you right now that nothing Stevens did tonight would lead me to believe that he is a coward. He gave a very valiant effort, and would have continued with the proceedings even if the referee didn't call a halt to the contest. The man received probably the most brutal beat down he will suffer in his career and there was no end in sight for him other than a career finishing knockout, or a corner/referee. He did well not to protest.
    Live to fight another day.

the ref asked him twice in a 1 min period to do some work. he didn't. he quit. he didn't go out on his shield.
he is still a tough muther****er for taking that punishment though. there is no shame in quitting if you take the kind of punishment he was receiving

That's one of the most misguided statements posted tonight. A smart corner knows when the fight is lost. A dam fool corner doesn't and sets it's fighter up for serious injury. I applaud the man's corner.

He didn't want none. Too bad Tony Weeks wasn't there to ask killer Curtis if he wanted to quit. Weeks ignored Alvarado's corner and asked him. Killer Curtis wanted out.

that KD was the funniest i've ever seen.

    USA! USA! USA! US..... oh.

then the look on Stevens face which made him look like he'd just put a hot chip in his mouth. LOL
    he got up though.

but, from the way he talked in the build up, i thought he would let his hands go a little more. he had his ear muffs on for most of the night.

we did find out quite a bit about GGG here tonight. we saw that if you take centre ring and don't go on the back foot, he looks very ordinary indeed. very beatable.

no straight shots (unless you go on the back foot) . taking far too long to get his shots off. doesn't have great defence.

someone who keeps their head and who has a bit of boxing ability will cause him many problems. beat him even.
i'm sure it opened up the eyes of some of his future opponents. as this will give them some confidence.
