i agree that he needs to move up now and face the likes of stevens for his first fight. Stevens is not a massive test at all though. But good groundwork to start from.

 

Stevens is tough and can punch pretty darn hard. He's as legit as most of the other guys at 160. Lara may be too good a boxer for him though.

 

Cant imagine Lara trying to slug it out with Stevens like GGG did.

Stevens coudn't land on N'Dam. Caneo couldn't land on Lara. I bet Stevens won't be able to land on Lara. It would be a boring running contest with Lara taking a clear decision.

However, if Lara really wants to get Goovkin's fight, then beating Stevens would be a good supporting argument.

 

Very true. His LH is world class. Unfortunately, he is a one trick pony. A defensively proficient fighter like Lara should not have a problem negating it. But if it does land.............

 

GGG and Stevens slugged it out? Funny, I remember GGG schooling Stevens and negating his punching power lol..

Stevens found a home for his L hook just about midway thru rd 3 and was consistently landing it for the remainder of the fight.

Yes, GGG dominated him throughout the rds, but Stevens gave a great account of himself in that fight. :bart

 

That's the fight that proved that GGG's chin was for real. He ate up those hooks like McNuggets.

Lara should win this comfortably. He is fast at 154, will seem blinding fast at 160. Stevens is short and stout so he might not be able to Land at Lara at all, but if he does land, we might see a highlight reel KO.
