This is still a fight I would love to see. When I saw this thread I immediately got my hopes up and thought this a was a confirmed thing.
I stand by my original prediction in 2013, Curtis by KO. Curtis is quicker, the better counter puncher and his punches are shorter (despite Davids T-rex arms). David will tee off and get countered viciously.
The fact that everyone is arguing about the winner is making me even more excited for this fight. A real 50/50 fight with two big punchers! It'll be a war for both men! :bbb
The fight tag lines for this fight are endless in suggestion due to the nature of this fight and who's fighting. BRAWL IN MONTREAL!!! World War 3 Nukes Away Nuclear Armageddon War of 1812 Firepower Ring of Fire Rapture End of Times Canada vs USA
There is absolutely no way Curtis has faster hands, and no Lemieux's counters are shorter, check out the shot that ended Tapia or a number of the counters he landed on Rosado and Ndam. Hell, watch the Khan/Canelo card, it's so obvious who has the faster hands. Curtis ended that Brazilian kid with a great counter but he's definitely slower than Lemieux. Curtis wobbled Golovkin in the 5th. Golovkin himself admitted Curtis is the hardest puncher he's been in the ring with so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well since Golovkin never allowed David anywhere near him, and David barely landed anything clean on him, I don't think he can give a fair assessment on who the bigger puncher is. I'd say they're about even, what do you think? David vs. Ayala This content is protected Curtis vs. Ayala This content is protected
David had to connect twice to floor the guy in the video. Stevens threw a short left hook and dropped his opponent. I see what you're saying, they are both powerful enough that it will come down to whoever lands flush first. Either a drop or a hit that will change the momentum of the fight. Either way, I want to see this fight. Two good punchers who come to fight. Also, the fight is not polarizing, fan wise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
David will first go for the body like he did in the N'Dam & Rosado fights. Thumping shots on the outside of Curtis' occasional shell. It's been a long time since David's opponent has been shorter than him. Should be fun.
No kidding! Even if that was not the case I would still go with Lemieux. Stevens has made a career out of losing when the competition gets stepped up.
