Curtis Woodhouse goes back on decision to retire...

This isnt a surprise to me tho, could tell from the buncey interview the other week that mentally he was nowhere near retiring

 

I can see Woodhouse beating Limond, capturing the CW title would be another unexpected success. I liked the idea of him retiring with the title victory but why not fight a few more times and try to retire with a Lonsdale belt for keeps? Now wouldn't that be a story?

 

I'd be surprised if any boxer given the choice would choose winning the Commonwealth over become the Lonsdale champ outright.

I'm confused as to why you only realise that you feel this strongly about the subject now? Unless the whole retirement angle was just a way to get publicity and sell tickets?

 

I rank the British well above the commonwealth title, as all British fighters do I think, should have a fight to announce pretty soon, can't say much more at the minute lads

No way is commonwealth title a higher level than the British, no way at all, the commonwealth title doesn't hold much value anymore to be honest, it's a shame really bit it's the way it's gone, if you look at the rankings a commonwealth champion is 9/10 ranked below the British champion, I think it goes area English commonwealth British European world, as of saying I was retiring before hand, I was sure I'd walk away but pretty much the day after I knew it would be impossible, easy said, hard to do

Keep living the dream Curtis whilst others sit on their sofa and criticise. You obviously have the desire to carry on. You call, go for it.

 

I for one am glad he has not retired because he is capable of living the dream many of us want to do. To be British champion is a honour and an accolade that goes down in history. Even though he played for blues I HAVE cheered him from the start. I was at the Gavin fight and though I thought Gavin never fought to his potential its a main because Curtis did not stop and wanted it that much he nullified Gavin in a way at this level we wont see no one do again. Curtis I a proud for you that you won the British championship and proud that you decided against retiring cause wouldn't it be that much better if you managed to win the Lonsdale outright.
