good luck with your comeback and i just hope you don't regret it afterwards. i got caught rip when ricky hatton made his comeback and travelled down to manchester for his comeback fight and although he looked it great shape and said he felt good we all know what happened there do you have a comeback opponent in mind?
Ricky went right in at the deep end and he was struggling with depression drink and drugs. I'm struggling with none of them and I'll be easing my way back in with a couple of 6 or 8 rounders. I'm not coming back for a one hit wonder I'm coming back to resume my career so I'll plan things properly. Although I'm 37 I have only boxed for 8 years so I don't have loads of miles on the clock, I'm still relatively fresh and I'm still improving so I'm quitley confident I'll be in the 1% that come back better but like I said talk is cheap. If I didn't think I would be better I wouldn't come back. I have no reason to other than I still believe I have more titles in me
I think josh Taylor will stop OD but once I get my feet back under me I'll be going after a few scalps. I'd like to avenge the Frankie Gavin loss as I see that as a very winnable fight for me and could lead me to a big one. OD Josh Taylor Eggington Coyle Campbell Burns Crolla. All possibilities at 140 or 147 if I can rack up a couple of decent wins
Regarding the Hatton comeback, I supported it and as we know it ended with a loss. But as I stated on here before that I also thought he came back at the wrong level, I think the prize fighter format would have been perfect for his comeback and a win in that could have been a spring board to perhaps a British title or a grudge fight vs Junior Witter. Hatton sort of contradicted himself in the build up saying it was about redemption and was about more than winning any titles , yet also said anything less than the very top level wouldn't be good enough.
If you stay at your non-fighting weight and fight Gavin then he might actually have a chance of making the weight himself for a change.
All the best Curtis. Loved following your journey to the British Title. As others have said and you know yourself, it's a dangerous game and time waits for no man. But when you started your football management career with Barnton, or Burton or whatever there name was I thought you'd end up managing a League One/League Two side in no time at all. You seem like one of those pricks that is just able to do that sort of thing! Anyway, enough arse kissing. Good luck with your comeback.
No offence but OD will not fight you. He's beyond British level now clearly, win or lose against Taylor he will almost certainly look to position himself for a world title shot next year. Eddie would never make that fight.
We seem to be one of the very few who thinks he'll beat Taylor mate. Good luck, Curtis. Always great when boxers and trainers post on here.
Cheers fellas, I'm training as hard as I ever did and I'm just as dedicated so what will be will be. Either way there won't be no excuses from me, I'll have some juice left in the tank or I won't but I won't die not knowing. Thanks for the support and hopefully I can give the fans a couple more enjoyable nights
