Relevance in boxing is not just a matter of elite achievement and skills. It's also to do with connecting with people, being personable and having a relationship with a fanbase that cares. You remind me of someone who views themselves as a football fan but derides suporters of lower league clubs. The type who now supports Chelsea, and before that, Man City, and before that Man Utd! Has no insight, no knowledge of the roots of the sport, just neediness to hang on the coat-tails of the elite and derive a tragically vicarious thrill.
Curtis, a bit off topic, but I seen a short video a few weeks back of you sparring a young George Groves around 7-8 years ago - must've been around the time he turned pro. What's your memories from that and how did you rate him back then? All the best with the comeback.
His body wont be able to take it now. 3 years out in your mid 30's is a long time out. He gets stopped by guys he would demolish in his prime.
Towers was due to fight Dave Allen, pulled out at very late notice and I haven't heard of him since. Does Towers train anyone else?
Hardly. Although maybe you should be checking your i.p and windows user account, since Alts are not allowed on this forum?
Good luck Curtis. Finished your book a few months back. The missus is from Beverley so she took an interest. Hats off to you for jacking in football to go and achieve your boxing dream. All the best.
Seen Curtis spar 2 HUGE young guys today, one being Sheffield amateur prospect shakiel Thompson. Curtis really seems to have his head switched on and looked determined to shake off the ring rust and get back at it! After today, he's ready for any opponent haha
