Watched it earlier, he said the £14k he got for boxing Frankie Gavin was his 2nd highest purse. Seeing that most people earn that every couple of months pre tax, he cannot have earnt well out if the game. He also says he couldn’t afford to go on holiday as he wasn’t paid on time. Surely he had some money saved from his football career?
It's genuinely frightening to see the pats on the back he gets on here when he has HIS OWN fighters sue him. Hearn is scum, but he's never ripped his fighters off.
Who has Frank ripped off? Paying a fighter late because you are seriously struggling financially is not ripping them off. Matchroom brag about having £60 million in the bank and then repeatedly lowball and underpay fighters.

That’s a ridiculous way to look at it. Don’t put on fights if you can’t afford to pay the fighters. The problem is he has the money but won’t pay.
Boxers need to be better advised. Promoters are taking a risk that the finances of a promotion don't add up (in which case they haven't done their job) and it's quite possible they will go bust in the process. Going to court to get paid when there's nothing in the pot, just makes boxers poorer still. Get the money bonded up front and let the promoter take the risk properly.
Promoters should have to have a bond with BBBofC and adequate insurance to cover issues if fighters not getting their purses in full, on time.
Exactly. I was in a boxing gym years ago and heard first hand about cheques bouncing then we'll down the line getting installments.
