According to boxrec. Won on points over 6. Moves to 10-0. Patrick Maxwell lost in an upset to Nick Okoth too by TKO in round 1. Another Hayemaker promotion, he should spend less time promoting more time on sorting the fight with Wlad out!

Use to rate Maxwell but im affraid inactivity and lack of focus have been his
downfall, but to be fair he was beat by a guy who weighed 15lbs more than him.

Nice to hear Woodhouse got a win.

Hope Woodhouse can win a domestic title, its a great story, plus he seems like a 'good guy' of the sport.

Think Woodhouse is coming to Belfast on the next Hayemaker card. After last night i'm really tempted to go but will have to check when Rogans come's back.

    Rogan's fighting on May 15th isn't he?

Curtis does seem like a good guy. Needs to step it up a bit now though to start challenging for titles.

Curtis career hasn't lacked pace mate, he's a novice. So has boxed away from tv to learn his trade. You box on tv and people want you to step up, he's done his first six three's and put in his best perfomance, his last stoppage win over Dunn was then his best performance..so he's getting better and the plan is working. He could have boxed at liverpool the night before, but his fight would have been lost on that card. So i put him on the little show today.

Fair enough mate, kind of forget how he isn't coming in with tons of amateur experience like others so is still learning. How did he look today?

I went to the show, and it was a great fight, all action for 6 rounds. He knocked Scriven down in the first and eventually won 60-54.

Didn't have it all his own way, as Scriven got some good shots and was tough as heck.

I'd like to see him go for the English title soon hopefully.

i for one would have liked to have seen him onsetanta last night, you clearly have put alot of thought into himcareer can you explain why he has beeen relativly inactive with only 10fights in 3 years since turning pro
for someone who you say needs to learn his trade of boxing one would imagine the best way to do this would be to actualy box

Maxwell was unlucky. He's a MW who was fighting a LHW. Total mismatch. He had two opponents pull out apparently and didn't even know his opponent till 2pm this afternoon

Well he's actually had 9 fights in nearly two that he has been with me.
I didnt manage him until september of last year when he had his first fight for hayemaker.
The thing you have to balance out with Curtis is that he is juggling playing football with developing his boxing technique. I think most people who have followed his career will tell you that each fight he has shown improvement.
He's doing plenty of learning in the gym, then he has to put that into the fight.
When kids have had lots of amateur experience, they can be put out more regular because they have a good basic skill level and knowledge of the fight game, whereas with curtis he has started from scratch. Remember his debut and how raw he was? not to mention that he was boxing as a southpaw. So thats why it has been a little more time consuming getting him nine fights in two yrs mate.

thanks for the good reply to my post it is always interesting to hear first hand whats going on with a fighters development some of the best posts on here are by guys like jeff thomas who have a true insight to a fight/fighter there was a fair amount of coverage when curtis jumped ship to boxing(and it was nice to see our sport get some press coverage) then it kinda dissapered it sounds like you have really got hold of him and have given him some direction i did read this was his last year at football and he was going to focus purely on boxing which can only be a good thing for him and you i belive with the story curtis brings combined with his abilty he can be a promoters dream, do you reckon we will see him on setanta before the years out?
