What other responsibility do the cut man have? Can the quality of their work judge mostly by how they can stop the bleeding and can a good cut man make a differance in preventing or delay swelling than an average one as they all seem to apply the same technique and use the same tools.
remember that clown that Kelly Pavlik used in the Martinez fight I think his name was Sid Brumbach? He had the referee asking him in between rounds if he knew what he was doing :rofl:rofl:rofl
several rounds the guy had no clue what the hell he was doing. First time I have ever seen a referee question a cut man like that. He also was supposedly using the wrong solutions on Pavliks face and wrapped a towel over his head like a mummy to stop the bleeding :rofl
After the Lewis fight I believe that Vitali said he will never be without a great cutman as they could have made the difference. Since then he has had Jacob 'Stitch' Duran in his corner. If it is the potential difference between a fight stopping or continuing then a good cutman is worth their weight in gold.
If i remember correctly, it seemed to me that the cutman applied very little vaseline, it wasn't even visible... Anyway, would have Vitali used half brain instead of nothing at all, he wouldn't have needed a cutman at all. He can only blame himself for the way he fought that night.
this is the fight that made him apart from getting cut he was winning the fight, so i don't know where you are putting the 'blame'
Vitali had arguably th ebest cutman in history in his corner that night. That guy saved Arturo Gatti in so many wars. Vitali is full of excuses!
