At the weight of cruiserweight, Oleksandr Usyk and Evander Holyfield are often debated for "GOAT'. It should be noted that Holyfield fought at a limit of 190 pounds while Usyk fought at a limit of 200 pounds. Their records-

Usyk's title fight record at CW:

Usyk decision 26-0 6' Krzysztof Glowacki /champion/ (WBO)
Usyk KO 17-2 5'11 Thabiso Mchunu (WBO)
Usyk decision 12-0 6'2 Michael Hunter (WBO)
Usyk TKO 40-4-1 6'2 Marco Huck (WBO)
Usyk (majority) decision 23-0 6'1 Mairis Briedis /champion/(WBC and WBO)
Usyk decision 26-0 6'4 Murat Gassiev /unified champion/(WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO)
Usyk TKO 30-2-1 6'2 Tony Bellew (WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO)

Usyk 7-0 (3KO) to become undisputed, with fighters ranging from 5'11 to 6'4. Usyk's opponents had a combined record of 174-8-2. Usyk defeated 2 single belt champions and 1 unified champion to become undisputed. It should be noted that Briedis would go on to win the World Boxing Super Series and become the only 3x CW champion.

Evander Holyfield title fight record at CW:

Holyfield (split) decision 26-2-1 5'5 Dwight Qawi /champion/ (WBA)
Holyfield TKO 14-1 6'3 Henry Tillman (WBA)
Holyfield TKO 20-4 6' Ricky Parkey /champion/ (WBA and IBF)
Holyfield TKO 21-4-1 5'11 Ossie Ocasio (WBA and IBF)
Holyfield KO 28-4-1 5'5 Dwight Qawi (WBA and IBF)
Holyfield TKO 44-4 6' Carlos de Leon /champion/ (WBC, WBA and IBF)

Holyfield 6-0 (5KO) to become undisputed with fighters ranging from 5'5 to 6'3. Holyfield's opponents had a combined record of 153-19-4. Holyfield defeated 3 single belt champions to become undisputed. It should be noted that "Ricky Parkey" is widely viewed, pound for pound, as one of the worst champions in boxing history. He finished his career 22-20, going 2-15 after the Holyfield fight.

Usyk, Holyfield's arguably best CW win, Qawi went 2-3 over his next 5 fights after the razor close 1st loss to Holyfield

Holyfield deserves all the respect his career brought him, but I believe Usyk unified a stronger division and he did it on the road.

    Usyk ranks higher at cruiserweight.

    Holyfield ranks higher at heavyweight.

    Holyfield ranks higher p4p.

Gotta look past the record, at least when it comes to a guy like Parkey. He had never been stopped and for the most part those losses came at the hands of fighters who were either much larger (Bonecrusher Smith had a 60 plus weight advantage) or who were world class at the time (Eddie Mustafa Muhammad).

He had defeated a much larger former heavyweight challenger in Renaldo Snipes on the way up, took the title off an undefeated Olympian In Murphy to win the belt, and defended against a legit top 10 guy at the time in Mutti. Plus, his fight with Holyfield was a straight up war for a long as it lasted. He definitely got the worst of it, but he certainly went down firing.

He wasn't ATG, but he was a solid win for Holyfield, especially given that Evander blasted him out in 3. If he wasn't the same after that, that probably has a much to do with the beating he received from Holyfield as anything else.

Pretty good thread on Parkey here.

I'm a little torn though because I think Qawi is probably the significant win on either guy's cruiserweight resume. But in terms of depth, Usyk I think has the edge so I don't fault anyone who picks him outright as CW GOAT.

There's nothing in Breidis' resume that even comes close to suggesting that.

    Haha I'm fully in agreement
Though I do think it is 50/50 at Hw, but Evan Fields would use his head to victory

Usyk's resume is so much better. Holyfield has Qawi but Biedris, Gassiev, Huck, Hunter, Glowacki, Mchunu, Bellew... Most of them at their absolute best, some even tested, beat or robbed against top HWs and Usyk fought all of them in their backyard.

Usyk is IMHO a candidate for the best boxer cruiserweight category ever.
It is not clear to me how a man of exactly the same height and reach as Muhammad Ali can stand at 90.8 kg without being thin; on the contrary.
There is also southpaw style, too high IQ ring, heart, angles ...
    I'm a Holyfield fan, but ...
I think the boxer who beats Usyk will be remembered in boxing history.
    Usyk cruiserweight resume is impressive.

I’ve always thought styles favor Usyk in this matchup. Still gonna be a really tough fight though, Holyfield had insane athleticism at cruiser
