Headlining at the Melbourne Pavilion on Friday, airing on liveboxing.com.au with the WBA Oceania light welterweight title at stake (1st defense of Amonsot). Zac Dunn, Blake Caparello and Mark Flanagan are on the card in supporting bouts.

31 year old Czar Of Bohol has a lot more tread on his tires but has mixed with higher company than Sudnongbua, a year his junior. The unbeaten Thai has 1½" on the Filipino gladiator and has the surface-sheen of a 70% KO rate to go with his unblemished record, but his opposition has mostly been low grade and he reportedly, per AsianBoxing.info, went life & death with Australian journeyman Andrew Wallace in his most recent 10-rounder (for the WBC Asian continental lightweight title) in September of 2015. Ironically, his originally scheduled opponent for that date was Michael Katsidis - the same man that nine years ago doled out enough punishment to Amonsot to cause a clot on his brain in their bloody & brutal war nearly caused him to lapse into a coma, with the end result that Amonsot can never again be licensed in the USA. Katsidis withdrew on 3 weeks' notice and has still not returned to action since March of 2015, which is probably for the best.

Amonsot is looking to extend his streak of 14-0-2 (10) since his loss to Katsidis. The wild swinging Thai might be his most dangerous foe in that span.

A look @ Sudnongbua versus another southpaw, Cristian Abila (with an overall-losing record):

Granted this was early in Sudnongbua's development but Abila has seven KO defeats and took Sudnongbua twelve, and made him look crude at times.

I can't believe that Amonst is still fighting after Katsidas and is ranked by the WBA. I remember that fight like it was yesterday it was an absolute barnburner. What's next is ZGorres defending a title in his next fight?

Lol yeah that happened around the same time. I remember fearing that Amonsot would suffer the same fate as Z, but he pulled through somehow and fought on despite the permanent license suspension here - not sure whether that's more ballsy or ill-advised.l

The headliner is actually Zac Dunn vs. Liam Cameron (who is a regular poster on the BoxRec forums, as it happens) for the Commonwealth title.

Amonsot vs. Sudnongbua is chief support, with Mark Flanagan vs. Orlando "Nocaut" Farías* (for another Oceania belt) tertiary.

(apt nickname as 62% of his wins and 73% of his losses have come by KO)

Went for Amonsot on points. I am surprised this is going ahead in Melbourne after the supposed tightening of regulations.

This should be on around 4am EST, main event 7ish. (so Amonsot vs. Sudnongbua likely sometime after 6am)

Amonsot dropped Sudnongbua thrice en route to a TKO7.
