    Charlie 'Chuck' Johnson, from Alliance, Ohio -

    Charlie Johnson, the 24 year-old - 6' 1" 198 lb. Heavyweight prospect from
    Eastern Ohio will visit Chicago to face 'undefeated' Walter Moore Jr. in a
    Heavyweight bout.

    'Chuck' Johnson has a record of 20-1-0 {9 KO's}, and has only suffered one
    loss in his career, that in a shocking '1st-Round Knockout Loss' to Tom Prater
    last year. Chuck hopes to knock-off the undefeated Chicago Heavyweight,
    and then has been promised a return bout with Tom Prater in a Local Televsion
    bout in Indianapolis.

    That was the fight poster hanging up in the corner of the Indy PAL where the speed bag was. I suspect Charlie Johnson (who ended up getting squashed by a young Gerry Cooney) might have had more than one loss at the time, but it should have been a good fight for it's time. I believe Moore won in 4rds on cuts, correct?

    Not sure what you mean? I wouldn't have expected Daniels to put up much of a fight at this point in his career. He had been blasted out in four rounds in Dayton against Roughhouse Fischer around this time and was generally not making the distance in his visiting appearances.

    I thought it was the Garland fight that was considered a "bad decision" in the Chicago press. I could access some of the post fight reports in the Chicago Times, but I'm just too cheap to drop $3 apiece for a few hundred word writeup..

    Sorry for the delayt in coming back to you - No not Stan - Forest Ward was as i recall something of a star amateur who had the great expectations in some quarters, as i recall rugged Canadian trail Horse but a big Spoke into his wheel, The Drover did a bit of his own De-Forestation !
