Because its too risky and Joshua might get knocked out to a guy the casual market never heard about thats why. Not difficult to understand.

Ortiz is going to be built up on Sky. After a few sensational KO's the fight with AJ will be massive. Then it gets made. Maybe with the WBA on the line as well

Look, Wlad didn't have a title, either. And they weren't saying "WAIT UNTIL WLAD GETS A TITLE and it'll be bigger next year."

They wanted this to be a big fight. Joshua-Ortiz is a big fight. Ortiz is fighting on the undercard. He's available. He's promoted by the same guy.

Ortiz isn't currently rated because he seems to have a WBA "interim" belt one day, then he doesn't, then he does, and the IBF doesn't rate other org's champs. All Hearn has to do is say Ortiz doesn't have a WBA belt, and Ortiz will be rated by the IBF in November ... likely much higher than Molina is.

I can understand why Hearn wants to collect heavyweights. That's fine. But don't cry that there's no one available when one of the top heavyweights is going to be in shape and on the same card.

Don't give him a pass for not pursuing this fight.

You used to tear into Wlad for night signing to fight opponents you wanted immediately also you consistently refused to credit him when he made those fights.

At least be consistent in your approach, otherwise you come across as a hater.

I seem to recall us disagreeing on a previous topic but here I'm fully agreeing with you.

If Hearn has both, the "casual" market will certainly know who Ortiz is if he knocks out Joshua. And Hearn can rematch them if he chooses.

Wlad could've knocked him out, too. They said they wanted a big fight. Joshua-Ortiz is a big fight.

It's not a big fight if there's no possibility Joshua will lose.

Im telling the truth dummy. Ortiz knocks AJ out. Thats why its not happening next. How does that make me a hater?

When did Wlad ever select a bogey man like Ortiz for a voluntary ?

Wlad was a bigger fight and also an easier fight. Ortiz was scheduled to headline a show in Monaco long before Wlad pulled out.
Wlad was meant to be the opponent. Wlad ran away. Not Joshua's fault.

Why compare Joshua to Wlad when you consistent tore apart his opponent selection?

That being said I remember you ere adamant he would duck Povetkin , then adamant he would duck Pulev, then adamant he would duck Fury.

You should have higher expectations for Joshua.

Potentially losing a fight isn't a good enough reason to not take a fight. Ortiz is available and the fight should be made.

If it's on short notice then terrible. If he has enough time to train then I'm good. Povetkins fans can root for Joshua to finish him earlier than Wilder did. That's what Povetkin/EE dick riders do. Stuff cocks down their throat and fake hate on American fighters.

Ortiz is not available. He's headlining a card in Monaco.

This situation has nothing whatsoever to do with Wlads opponent selection.

Ortiz is fighting on the Joshua undercard. It's for the vacant WBA "interim" belt ... or he's defending it. Whatever the case is this week with the WBA.

The Ortiz-Scott fight is a month earlier and is a tuneup. It'll last a couple minutes. Ortiz gets tougher sparring than the Scott fight will be. Everyone involved is aware of that.

And that's a valid excuse for you to avoid a fight? Do you hold every fighter to same standards?

Yeah, but Wlad isn't promoted by Hearn/Matchroom either. Joshua and (the recently signed) Ortiz are as they're both Matchroom fighters. That sort of changes things. Furthermore, Wlad was primarily the one who wanted to go the WBA route. It wasn't mandated that he needed a belt to accept the AJ fight.

In the end, we share a similar sentiment on much of this. I'm just telling you what might be at play here solely when it comes to Ortiz. It's too contingent upon probabilities, so it may or may not be what's going on, but the possibility for this to be Hearn's reason for signing Kong does exist. No doubt Hearn looked at his standing in the rankings prior to signing him. He thinks he'll have two HW titlist's fighting soon and that it'll be a huge UK event.

By the way, who is "crying" here?

Maybe Ortiz wouldn't have signed for a date so soon if it was against Joshua. That fight will happen next year when its bigger and better
