Don't underestimate the effect that a 4am kick off will have on the number of people buying Khan-Bradley.

Exactly!! It just shows that even 20000 would have been decent the way Hearn was saying 5000 would be lucky. Although it really surprises me how 60000 pay for a fight everyone knew the outcome to before it even started.

If you get 70,000 people doing anything to do with boxing then they arn't boxing fans, they are cross over fans.

'cross over fans' , i think we've found a replacement for the word 'casuals':deal
I wonder how many Irish bought the fight??

no it doesn't, hearns doesn't set the benchmark, he was saying what he did to **** off team khan, 70k buys for khan is low considering the type of money he has been getting.

Not bad for a tune up fight with around a week of promotion on a unknown PPV to the casuals.

Still Khan should of taken the SS3 option, better for the long run.

Spectacularly short-sighted business decision for the sake of a couple of hundred grand when a guy's made millions already.

But meh, as long as he fights Bradley next I don't care.

70k for a an olympic gold medallist, world champion, fighting in england against another brit/irish at a decent hour is ****ing awful.

everyone in the country knows who amir khan is but no one really wants to pay to watch him. this has been the case since his first ppv. sky were hoping that he'd gone to america and legitimised himself as a force. in fairness he has come on leaps and bounds. however they realised too late that the opponent was **** and so was the undercard.

khan is completely incapable of carrying a card by himself and that is what he did against mccloskey. suprising considering everyone knows him, he comes in shape, comes to fight and has the celebrity lifestyle. goes to show you how important an intriguing fight is.

I wonder if it was even a Khan calling the shots on these issues, I hear he leaves that side to his team, meaning Mr Asif Vali, I think he did want to lose his cut only looking out for himself well done sir.

In the says of PPV football on PremPlus you could either get a season ticket or buy individual matches for £8 a go.

Anyone know what the average buy rate was?

I assume Man U got the most buys?

As a business model you could get SPL rights and broadcast for free all games not involving the Glasgow 2, and sell all old firm matches for say £6 a go on PPV

It is a good set of figures compared to what was imagined. If Khan goes on to unify he won't lose out financially as sky will want him back but if he loses against Bradley or after stepping up to WW, taking a short view and financial gain for this fight will have been a bad move.

PPV fighter = One who makes more money using PPV than what a network would offer for to broadcast on their channel.
Sky offered him $100,000 and he went on to make three times that. Clearly SKY fuvked up by lowballing him and lost out on the moolah they could have banked if they kept to the original agreement. How much resources did they consume in the build up to it?:think
I bet Primetime must have been laughing all the way to the bank.:yep
An atrocious call by SKY and Frank is probably chuffed to know he can use Primetime if SKY pull the rug from under him at the last minute.
