Daily Mail: Primetime 70K buys for Khan

Lol warren would never go to Primetime. Warren sees himself as one of the top promoters in world boxing and he ain't gonna relegate himself to Primetime. Also Sky ain't gonna do nothing to mess up a relationship with warren. They ain't stupid!! Sky did not mess up with khan. Sky didn't want a Potential PR nightmare for the sake of a little extra money which isn't exactly make or break for them considering in a few months haye (a real ppv star) will make them serious serious money!!!

A fight at 4am makes a huge difference. I wouldn't be shocked if sky are ready to show a Bradley fight but not on sky box office. The hatton v pacquiao numbers must tell sky something. 300,000 buys at 4am when they were expecting a lot more. That was the last British fighter in America on ppv vs pacquiao who was a star. A true mega fight. Now khan doesn't have the fanbase hatton had and Bradley is nowhere near as marketable or known to people over here like pacquiao was. Now just say we guess khan v Bradley would do 50% of that. Is it worth doing it on sky box office for 150,000 buys?

 

So devoting all that airtime and cost to promote the fight so another station can cash it in, whilst at the same time possibly losing all Golden Boy Promotions fights, isn't messing up?

 

i doubt they will go on primetime, golden boy aren't that dumb.

dont forget oscar is just the pretty face of GBP all the real brains are working behind the scenes, Richard Scaeffer is the evil genius.

plus didn't eddie hearns say golden boy are willing to co-promote some of his fighters in the states if they go there? money talks.

 

I don't think they'll do Primetime either but I expect them to play hardball with SKY in the broadcast negotiations .

But in saying that, what a scoop it'll be for Primetime if they do!

I dont think the words of someone who knows very little of the UK TV Market should be taken too seriously.

 

Aren't showtime and primetime the same company? Anyway I'm glad for primetime. The first decent boxing channel as an alternative to sky since setanta, their commentary for the super six has been better than anything from sky in ages.

In an ideal world we'd pay a boxing channel 15-30 a month and we'd get all the boxing we can watch.
