This is supposed to be an excellent fight by all accounts, one of 2009's sleeper hits that none of us in the West got to see.

It was of, course, overshadowed by his attempted sixth defense later in the year where he lost the WBC title to Koki Kameda - but Naito's fifth is reported to have been a thrilling affair with an even blend of fierce infighting and tactical gamesmanship. The descriptions of Zhong in particular intrigue me - his performance in this brave challenge has earned the 4'11" competitor the labels "Chinese Tyson" and "pocket Hercules" (the latter courtesy of the respected Graham Houston - although it is unclear whether he was referring to Zhong's work on the inside, or his stature being such that you could put him away in your pants for later).

Does anybody know where this can be seen - on or off the web?

    Ain't seen this.

Naito is one awkward customer, and whilst being nearing the end, I remember being impressed upon hearing Zhong had pushed him so hard. Wasn't it a Draw?

It was a unanimous decision, but closer than anyone would have thought on the cards (margins of two, three, and four points respectively). Naito reportedly got on his bicycle in the later rounds after putting some early ones in the bank, but Zhong was able to cut off the ring and hammer him in the 11th, and had nearly gotten him out of there in the 6th.

Why the **** was this moved to General?

If I wanted the GF's opinion, I would post in the GF.

This was put in Classic for a reason. Plenty of modern fights and fighters are discussed there.

China which is an emerging power in amateur boxing has begun to flex its muscles in pro boxing with the first WBC light flyweight Silver title won by diminutive Xiong Zhao Zhong who scored a twelve round unanimous decision to win the title in a clash with Mexico’s Osvaldo “Chucky” Razon in Kunming, China.

The WBC described the victory by the 29 year old Zhong who is only 4 feet 11 inches tall as “a historic occasion.”

The WBC said this is a “huge step forward in the development of boxing in China.”

With the win Zhong improved his record to 19-4-1 with 11 knockouts.

The newly crowned WBC Silver champion had earlier won the WBA Asia Council Continental title with a twelve round split decision over the Philippines Rodel Tejares on June 27, 2011.

Prior to that he dropped a twelve round unanimous decision to another Filipino, Julius Alcos on November 6, 2008.

Razon who dropped to 11-4 with 6 knockouts was coming off a twelve round unanimous decision in winning the vacant WBC Latino title in a clash with Ivan Meneses on January 20 this year.
