Dale Youth trainers on DeGale vs Groves

I agree that we shouldn't read much into it. I watched Kessler get beat around by Murat. Murat then comes out and gets leathered by Cleverly. remember that was a Kessler rumoured to be struggling at that point with balance and vision problems.

I also further agree that De Gale beats Groves right at this moment intime, and I'm a fan of Groves mainly because of his body punching, but the Anderson proved his gut and heart to grind it out, something that De Gale has still to prove.

 

I agree that he about Groves heart that's not in question the lad fought through a broken jaw against a decent polish fighter in Am's and won. I know a lad who knows Groves and said he's a really good lad but i just don't rate him that highly.

I like both lads and wish them well...i want to see both go onto big things.

I don't agree about him boxing well of back foot. He wastes far to much energy with needless movements and gave up far to much room against Anderson and that meant he was near ropes and showed he wasn't at ease being so near ropes and got panicked into mistakes.

DeGale can become ragged when going forward but i don't see him doing that against Groves because he's becoming a lot more technically sound. Groves i haven't seen a great deal of improvement in last few bouts.

He said after Anderson bout ''This was first time i had a gameplan and i struggled to stick to it''. I saw a video dated back just after he beat Adamu and he says ''it was strange...i never trained for a opponent before and had a plan and had Adam telling me he will do this and this and i'm thinking no he won't haha...''. I think George showed he struggled to stick to a plan...DeGale is mentally more maturer inside the ring at this time IMO.

Just watching Groves debut in U.S. I really ****ing hate his style...i dunno if it's just me?. Ok he lands big shots and will be involved in fun fights but he's not slick and i hate seeing fighters box in a way that doesn't suit them at all.

He has a very sharp jab but only seems to use it sparingly. I hear Booth shout ''tighten up'' ''box...box'' But i don't think George is really boxing the way he should. He has so many technical flaws from his stance that it's worrying. If he doesn't smooth these out he will lose very very soon if he stays working at competitive level.
