after the fight last night i was reminded of john duddy....both of them are good decent lads, but neither has a killer instinct or heart for the fight game....dallas looked like he wanted to get beat up last night, almost like he was hoping to get his boxing career over with i really thought he was a british champ in the making before the price fight.
The guys jus found his level, Id have no problem with him being the journeyman type, as long as he doesnt take too many bad beatings.
A roofer? Perfect job, he wont even need ladders. He is finished, to build him back up requires Maloney flying in some Latvians for 4 or 5 fights and it aint worth the investment.
Dallas is ok apart from his defence,he really needs to work on it big time,Skelton is not a bad fighter who came to win,Dallas needs to watch how the Klits fight and copy just like Price has lol.
Yeah he is a roofer from Kent. Larry O I am sure will be released following 2 losses as per standard Frank W contracts. Maloney can call him and arrange for Dallas to fight him. As said by others he is better retiring really but it certainly isn't hard to get him decent fights and paydays. The HW scene is appallingly thin on fighters, Dallas is a journeyman to be same as Scott Belshaw.
Yes it is just that simple. What a crap trainer Tom Dallas has not showing him videos of the Klitschkos and telling him to 'just copy'.
Yeah that's why Hatton lost, he forgot to copy Morales and JMM. His defense wasn't good either, he should have copied PBF.
I hope he doesn't retire but if he's going to continue then he better make sure his heart is truly in it or he's going to get seriously hurt. He looked like a raw novice rather than a guy who was tipped to make an impact at heavyweight. When he lent back on the ropes for the first time and allowed Skelton to club him a few times it looked like he was inviting the ref to stop the fight. He got his wish in the next round. That was a lifeless performance and he looked very sorry for himself toward the end and I ended up feeling sorry for him too. He needs to seriously consider his future in the sport.
TBH his trainers don't look up to much either, he'd be better going jacking it in or moving to a different trainer and working his way up on small hall shows for next year. Try add a few things to his none existent skillset. In saying all of that i think jacking it in would save much needed time.
he looked like he didnt want to fight he needs to have a think is his heart really in the game if its not get out coz he could get hurt
That corner was a joke...... Said this last week.....once he gets a few tuners. Fighting him next would be dangerous (Dallas is in the last chance saloon)....Gary Cornish would love it.......theres no doubting that. Dallas dosent even have a jab and if it wasnt for Price starching him and his hard paper round i would of thought he was ill and took the fight. Anyways........if it did happen next and wont......Gary Cornish would stop him quicker than Skelton did......and cleanly.
It depends what he wants out of the game if he should stop now or not. He has a marketable record and he certainly won't be short of offers (including a heavyweight Prizefighter), so he could definitely pocket a few bob over the short-term by being the 'opponent'. Dallas having a career like this long-term is out of the question though unless he wants to be seriously hurt, as he doesn't have the defensive capabilities to go into a full-blown journeyman role. If he really does have the desire to get himself back into domestic contention, then he should switch gym's and give it a go with a different trainer. If he doesn't at least try, then he'll never know if he could have been better for the switch. Big Larry O, slated viciously by most on here after his humiliation to McDermott, went away, switched things up and came back all the better for it. Now I'm not saying Larry O will suddenly become some sort of force on the domestic scene, but you could see he had clearly improved in the Sexton fight compared to any previous outing. He had the desire to come back, it's whether Dallas has the same. If Dallas doesn't have that desire, then I would advise him to give it up. However, I would understand if he took a couple of pay day's before doing so.
i'm not a Tom Dallas fan and from what i had seen of him I did not expect him to go beyond a british title challenge (maybe). anyway, i really felt for him, not because he lost but the way he lost. people have to remember he was coming off a KO, his confidence looked shot to pieces to me, obviously he wasn't anywhere near mentally ready for a fight. he seems like a nice man and whatever he decides to do i wish him all the best.
